Complicating matters is the kickstarter.
It could be totally legit and unbiased and sourced equally well from test/goons/pl/nc. and with all the money going to the author, or it could be very biased and the money mismanaged - no one can say because all of that's in the future. In any case, TMC media is certainly repping the book+kickstarter very hard because whether or not it goes through, it's still hits on their site and money in their pockets because they are the driving force behind it.
And on another angle, there is the school of thought that says mittens+co are seeing the decline of eve and have decided "to hell with running a healthy, functional and active alliance; it's time to cash out" and every action taken since (and including) the rebranding to "the imperium" have been steps designed for maximum profile and profit with no regard to long term consquences (because the assumption is that the end is near anyway so who cares).

He probably drank the koolaid and believes the book will save EVE (which might not need as much saving as the doomsayers cry), despite the fact that the book isn't a CCP venture. It has CCP's permission (for now), and it may get a lot of people to trial EVE, but the retention of those new players will have nothing to do with the book and everything to do with their experience versus expectation during the trial.
If the book (which I doubt will be free) makes the game seem like something it isn't, you can be sure that CCP won't see any revenue from many of the readers.

I just listed the reasons why 3 mids is bad, it limits your fitting diversity which means your fits are extremely predictable. Since you have bad capacitor problems you're always forced to run 3 things, prop, point, and cap booster, you can't run anything else like a prop, point, and web, because you'll run out of capacitor because it can't sustain itself.

you're just making shit up because you have no argument. the omen's fittings are extremely predictable as I said because you're forced to run the cap booster, which means you have 2 mid slots. Anemic fitting prevents actual buffer fits and lack of mids prevents you from using other utilities like defensive webifiers or any other mid slot option for that matter. The omen's only role is kiting, it has zero ability to brawl in any case, its kiting role is shit and it gets out kited by other ships.

a defensive webifier allows you to shed tackle that is tackling you, by using a webifier you isolate the target and get hits on him, without the webifier, if a ship is orbitting you, you'll never hit him and you'll rely on your drones just to get hits and you'll die so easily.

yes, everything shits on the abaddon, that's because those things are overpowered. I'm not a power creep shitter. the only battleships that are really usable at the moment are pirate battleships because they're relatively pretty cheap, and because T3Cs haven't been fixed, logis haven't been fixed, warp speed happened, people want to fit fleets through wormholes, pirate ships got way overbuffed, etc. it's not just as simple as hurdurr buff abaddon it's not used enough muh metrics.

rokh has tons of abilities, due to the optimal range bonus, heavy sniper rokhs are amazing at clobbering shit from over 200km away should you fit it that way. While not nearly as popular as other battleships its far better than a ship that can't move and can't project any of its DPS. The rokh's primary advantage comes from that amazing ability to project over hundreds of kilometers effortlessly regardless of railguns shit tracking.

T3D adaptability is also a limitation. they cannot tank while going fast. it's much more noticeable with a balanced one like a hecate, but it's still a thing on a svipul. I'm more concerned about svipuls in a frigate than in a cruiser, I fly brawling cruisers, they shit on svipuls.

because attack cruisers rely solely on that speed as part of their tank, battleships have loads of tank and their relative size and potential output allows them to be more lenient in the speed factor
