I think the intent was to have you pop 4, keep 2 and 3 active, and walk around with 1
but that's impractical as fuck and doesn't scale well so people just do arcane grace+guardian with frostymen colors to be a tank
3 is always tanky, though, regardless of your color, and always had the damage boot. very clearly made for melee rage + life strike.
2 can be done as either heat or cold depending on what level range you're going to
related tangent: jesus christ why did they ever think chroma #1 or atlas #3 were good ideas?
at least nyx #4 has utility that can sort of justify not being able to do anything else

The 2 buffs allies but the range is super shit even maxed. Toxin max range max duration chroma has a niche now, since if you and team are in the bubble you can keep up the damage/reloads faster, and the increase scales with duration and not strength.

alert takes ~2mins to run
I received 60 omega isotopes from a 20-min survival farm, which is enough for 15 runs. 15 runs will take 30mins to run, yielding ~25 core packs
So 50 mins for alert total = 25 core packs
In that same 50 mins, I can do 17 Titan runs. Even assuming 1 pack/run average (overestimate), Triton is still not nearly as efficient as the alert

It's pretty rough but the way he made navigation work like a hub instead of the typical RAGS bullshit where it's based on direction is kinda decent. There's surprisingly alot of content for an alpha but it's still obviously unfinished. For starting perks I recommend taking having a sister and having a working mom.

I'm trying it right now but I don't get it right now. Blink is fun for rushing to enemies/bailing out and I like Cosmic Crush. But I haven't used the Penumbra as I've been grinding for Velocitus so I haven't needed to stand still (assuming this comes in handy for Interception) and I never even notice a change when Fighter Escort is active.
I'm only up to rank 10 or so on Itzal so I'm guessing it gets better with mods. At least I'm liking it more than Odonata but I don't know why it's hyped so much.
