I wonder how balance is going to work for this game though. Some characters become radically better when they get certain cards.

I think it's a problem because of certain cards you can't auto dismount of skill because some cards let you use skills on mounts.
For instance Skye's Cloak card lets you use Hidden on a mount but if skills auto dismounted the card wouldn't work.

When you level up, you get a chest containing 5 cards. Winning a match gets you a chest with 1 card. Any duplicate cards are used in crafting new ones.

I don't agree with Cassie, her projectiles are large and relatively slow moving. Her early game is really weak to make up for her strong late. She is also incredibly squishy and has the worst escape. Cassie is the classic carry.
You didn't mention Barik's inflame when talking about him. Barik is all about fire, and when he uses it he's beyond broken.
Fernando is on the stronger side in pubs because he has a hitscan which requires little damage, similar to Overwatch's winston. He does consistent damage, which is incredibly strong against people who can't aim for shit.

I played against a Pip who had the card that extend his weightless, the one that allow him to shoot during it the one that heal him during it and the two cards that put poison cloud. The guy was nearly unkillable, he just jumped everywhere while one shooting everybody.

I was playing Skye, funny enough he's a direct counter to her. The second you appear he just slows you and hops away, and if he took fear bomb enjoy being 2 shot. You'd pretty much have to wait for someone else to chase him down and make him use his abilities if you want any chance of assassinating him.
Ruckus does fine, but he's still going to get away from you. You'd have to hope you get the air shooting card early.

Well for one your Hidden lasts longer than his Weightless unless he got the 3s extension card and if you rolled the Zombie card his Weightless heal card is negated.

Keep your distance and A/D like a madman while closing the gap and put down a timebomb, watch him skip away and follow suit

Stealth up behind him but exit stealth prematurely so it's off cd faster and put down a timebomb and start shooting poison bolts at him, he'll either try to fight you or skip away again. You can follow or let him heal while you bully other people

Method 1 and 2 is just you confirming exactly what I said, which is Pip will hop away. You make it seem like once Skye forces him away shes free to just go and harass others without her cooldowns. Skye is super reliant on having her entire kit ready. You can't fight Pip without timebomb, and he'll always be able to get right out of it and retaliate.
You need to have specific cards for Skye to fight pip, mainly sticky bomb/paranoia. Otherwise there is no way to lock him down, and even then, if Pip has fear bomb you are fucked. It's an instant fear and he will blow you up.
The only way they should buff Pip is to make adhesive be throwable.

It's not really a MOBA. I find it easier to compare to TF2 with it being a combination of Capture the Point and Payload.
Gork is fun due to his damage potential if everyone idiotically groups up. If you can get a Chain Lightning build going, you can easily be top damage. He also benefits from being able to attack the objective and enemies at the same time (sometimes using the objective for free hits, even).

Skye is the typical slut, after a few games she's down to fuck. She attractive, but there's nothing particularly interesting about her, she claims to be kinky but doesn't have the cards to back it up, she's not particularly punishing or rewarding with good escape mechanics and a relatively easy to use weapon, as well as having a number of "reset" cards to quickly regen all her health, making her far more forgiving.
Cassie on the other hand has to be courted, with poor escape mechanics and a very low health pool positioning is key, with a slower fire-rate misses are more punishing. as well as having no cards to augment regen. Cassie can't just stealth and stand in a corner to regen all her health like Skye can. With all this said Cassie is a girl for the long run, as she opens up with more rewarding and more interesting cards. It doesn't matter how many hours you play with Cassie, a dormancy + hard strung + exaction + sniper combo one shotting someone from half way across the map will always bring a smile to your face.
Skye is a pornfu at best.

Skye is rewarding as fuck, landing a good bomb is one of the best feelings in the game. One of the best feelings I get is when I see a little faggot Cassie sitting there sniping away, completely oblivious to the anal ravage shes about to experience. Nothing like opening fire with the stealth bonus card and deleting her in 2 seconds. Watching her panic and do that garbage roll only to delay the inevitable always brings a smile to my face.

Someone sent me a key when I posted e-mail hit level 4 and gave me 3 keys to give out. I thought this game would be shit but surprisingly polished and the controls feel good, a lot better than smite.
Balance seems pretty bad, some heroes are just garbage. Game is very snowbally, once a team gets a level advantage it feels very hard to come back.
Has potential but hi-rez will probably ruin it like they do every game. Rip tribes and Global Agenda

Havn't tried buck yet but every game I face one I just ignore him because he does nothing to me.
Fernando seems awful without an organized team, and if your team is already good going another dps class would help more anyways. Shielding damage and doing no damage, no real way to pressure the enemy team if they ignore you.
Other classes feel mediocre except for Pip and Ruckus.
Every game I have played as Ruckus I have single handily dominated. Don't know how consistent his cards are but 50% movespeed, 40% passive attack speed and double the duration on his AS buff seem ridiculous coupled with a long range hitscan weapon and his tankiness

Grokh is strong, his damage is low but consistent and easy to land, he has some extremely strong cards, and his totem buffs apply to the team.
Fernando is actually getting nerfed this patch because he's regarded as being too strong.
One of Ruckus' biggest strengths is how easy he is to play. He does consistent easy to land damage, has strong defense aswell as escape potential.
The only character which is a bit underpowered right now is Buck and he's getting buffed this patch, and even still I've had great success with Buck.
If you are playing solo you probably have very little cards, certain characters scale differently. Cassie for example becomes much stronger late game.

Another hotfix coming out at some point today. They are just making siege engines vulnerable again, with the 50% damage reduction shields. They are keeping the movement speed increase however.

thats without fancy cards and stuff like that. basically the team with more damage dealers is always better (assuming both teams are not retarded).
the game have 2 situations. 1st, when you need to capture a zone. just try to flank and engage from various angles so you can split them, focusing always strong but weaks heroes (Pip, Cassie, Barick, Skye if you catch her). if you cant burst them fast, retreat, recover and try again. heroes in this game have a lot of cc clearing/mobility, and its dumb to chase forever and become vulnerable with no cover and outnumbered. A LOT of people make mistakes like that: engaging all on 1 side, overextending leaving cover and being outnumbered, being pushed away from the capture zone as a result. the 2nd part is pushing/defending the siege machine. if pushing, just poke a bit, try to catch some retard who is not well cover, but nothing else. is better to stay all alive and in time/position when the next capture zone kick in. when defending, try to stay cover and burst the siege as fast as you can and again, the most important thing is to be on position for the next capture.
now the game is very very limited, resulting on either stomping games (vs people who doesnt even know the basics or just having a retarded setup) or a few good ones. the problem is, the very few you will get a decent game, cards are a big deal. I guess in the future, with more heroes, cards and being able to pick your own cards the game will be much better.

It's only been a couple weeks, so no. If you didn't enjoy it then I don't suggest trying again until open beta. There's been patches, but nothing game-changing.

Just said the second thing because all streams I watched of it were from Overwatch players and it seemed to be the general feeling lol. I personally don't enjoy it because it feels more like a MOBA than a FPS, but playing the turret guy was kinda fun.

I haven't read anything on the official forum but in my opinion the game just isn't very fun right now. Having good map design is key for enjoyment in this game I think, sadly they haven't had time to put work into that yet.
The RNG upon RNG is also frustrating (RNG to loot/craft good card, RNG to draw it) and is going to hinder new players a lot. Just to mention some problems other than bugs and shit which are to be expected in a beta.
But I played Smite in early closed beta and I realize how heavily they improved it (outside of questionable balancing, shit matchmaking and HiRez being HiRez). I guess what I'm saying is I'm done with the game for now and I'll keep coming back every month or so to check out patches and stuff.

I agree on the map design for sure, it's terrible imo.
I'm 50/50 on the RNG. It's obvious that there will be a more constructed option when it comes to drawing cards. Probably saved for the 'ranked' mode.
When it comes to loot and crafting, I think it's fine for their goal of keeping it f2p. If good cards are too easy to get then its hard to make people want to spend money.
