It used to be so comfy playing vanilla minecraft with my friends, but we all kind of got bored with house building (which I don't think was intrinsically boring, it was just we had nothing else to do). I'm thinking that maybe we could mix things up with mods like mystcraft, and thaumcraft looks really cool, because they both look like they would promote going off on adventures and then returning to a cool wizard homebase and such. Mods saved MC for me, after playing vanilla since beta 1.3. If you like playing with your friends try some of the HQM maps like Regrowth, Crash Landing etc, they have a book that basically guides you through different mods and give you an objective and rewards for completing it. You may also try some of basic modpacks like Bytesize, Tekkit Lite or Tekkit Legends. Good luck Anon.
