Don't be so plebeian. A burning lasts a few paltry hours. This could last a lifetime. Besides, no one is going to make a saint of a woman so publicly debased. Saints are martyrs, not pets.

First one, then the other.
Post your shameful Witcher confessions lads. Mine from least to most severe:
I have never ploughed a succubus or vampire in these games
I got fooled by the spoopy ghost sisters/demon on Roche's path in TW2
RadovidxPhilippa is my OTPI used to be a Trissfag
>>122798597
My eyes were filled with tears during Ciri's first encounter with the Rats and her subsequent initiation into their gang.
I couldn't continue reading on after the guy who beat his daughter for imitating Falka because I was too emotionally overwhelmed.I let my players make Bear School witchers in Wiedźmin: Gra Wyobraźni that were more viking raiders than witchers
>>122799434
I don't think any of those confessions are particularly shameful.
>>122799524
To me they are some of the results of me failing as a person which makes me feel shame but you are right, they are nothing compared to waifuing or downloading crazy fetish mods.
>>122799773
I think by this thread's definition if those particular things moved you that much, you are a Ciri waifufag.

Stop taking your standards of conduct from internet autists. That's totally normal.
>>122798597
>I got fooled by the spoopy ghost sisters/demon on Roche's path in TW2
Did that too.
The draug boss fight in TW2 took me about 3 hours.
I hadn't finished the books before playing TW3.I got the Empress ending
>>122799895
There's a difference between being moved by fiction and not being able to keep going because of being moved too much.
>>122799901
No judgement here, just forgiveness and understanding.
>The draug boss fight in TW2 took me about 3 hours.
Except for this. TRAP IT WITH THE YRDEN and GIT GUD you fucking faget
How do I get over the fact that Shani isn't real and will never be my wife?
>>122800062
Not really no. Having to take a breather at an especially emotionally draining point is also normal, if you're really engaged in what you're reading. You're too hard on yourself, anon. I didn't feel that way in those particular scenes, but I've had similar incidents in regards to other books. Different things speak to different people.
>>122800105
Yeah, when I finally killed it I just stared at the screen and realised how much I'd been fucking up in my approach

>>122800371
Did you think the fight centered around killing the shield because it had its own healthbar? I can't tell if that was bad boss design or if CDPR was just being cheeky
>>122800241
>You're too hard on yourself, anon.
You're right but it's beenthree monthssince I last read and every time the idea of reading on crosses my mind I remember what was going on and push it further away.
>>122800574
I had a book series that did that to me but it gets easier when you confront it. Having something effect you that much is a blessing really. Imagine all the great feelings you'll get when you re-read it.
>>122800513
Yep, and I kept as far away from him as possible making him call the trebuchets and archers constantly. I just felt like an idiot when I finally got it.
>>122800945
The thing that annoyed me the most was that whirlwind thing he sometimes does. Never could figure out how to counter it.
I kind of want a Draug fight in TW3 now.
Will Fringilla get a redesign for Blood and Wine or will she keep wearing a recolored version of the exact same outfit every other sorceress wears?
>>122800731
Sure, feeling feelings is great but when every feeling hits you like a freight train, hiding from them in a hole seems the best option even though it just makes everything worse.
>>122801528
That's what fiction is for. Catharsis so you don't have that issue so much in real life.

Yeah that's me during the entire end segment of Blood of Elves. Also remember, it all ends up ok in the end as long as you don't fuck up in TW3.
The thread is pretty comfy today, which perhaps supports the superstition that thread quality is directly proportional to the quality of the OP image

Feeling things from fiction doesn't make feelings from real life less intense.
I'll just get some sleep now instead of bothering you all with my emotional issues.

>>122804692
>Because I've seen both but never understood why
The novels and games are translated into English by entirely different people, so the names get transliterated differently. The games' translation is both much better and more internally consistent (the English novels switch translations multiple times between books), so I always use that.
The answer to your first question is "It's both, but they're pronounced the same despite different spellings".

Also he's male, which isn't actually possible despite Emhyr's beliefs. Can't get the full set of powers unless you're a woman.
>>122806365
>>122806520
If anything Alvin is more powerful than Ciri. Ciri never had to worry about just spontaneously time traveling whenever she was mildly upset because her awesome powers overcame her. Somehow he still loses to Geralt in a swordfight though.
>>122806634
It's been a while since I played the first game but I thought he never spontaneously time traveled and only did it because he willed himself to do it?
>>122807098
>but I thought he never spontaneously time traveled and only did it because he willed himself to do it?
Him time traveling by accident in a moment of stress is how the entire plot twist comes about and also how he goes mad from seeing the distant future.
>>122806634
Maybe that could be because Ciri had better teachers who helped her control her powers? Also it's probably because cdpr had no idea what they were doing with the first game.
>>122807476
>Maybe that could be because Ciri had better teachers who helped her control her powers?
Alvin ends up with more control while wearing dimeritium 24/7 and having no real tutelage besides a couple weeks with Triss.
> Also it's probably because cdpr had no idea what they were doing with the first game.
Yeah it's this. The whole first game is just a shot in the dark tribute by fans that can't believe they're actually doing this and not immediately going bankrupt.

Volgefortz would have been the true savior of mankind, he would have been a fair and peaceful ruler because no one would have been crazy enough to defy him but no, a bunch of jellymad cakeboi wizards and sorceresses with gaping vaginas couldn't deal with the fact they sucked ass and swallowed compared to the great and mighty Volgefortz the one and only

In all seriousness this what your fellow trissfags asked for so you have no one to blame but them. At least cdpr didnt go full retard and give into their demands that they asked such as implementing her into the prologue, during act 1 skellige, and during the moments were we actually get to see the Yen/Geralt/Ciri dynamic. It could have been far worse such as giving her a ballad that they desired to have. If it makes you feel any better the Yen dialogue is terrible but I blame that on Trissfags as they started all of this.
>>122812371
RIP sweet prince.
will Blood and Wine play exactly how HoS did more than likely? you can choose just Blood and Wine or start a new game entirely with it included?

Look at the filename and posting style, and then see why you shouldn't be responding seriously. Though you seem kind of autistic so that might not help.
> If it makes you feel any better the Yen dialogue is terrible but I blame that on Trissfags as they started all of this.
Eh, the only thing that was a bit rough was the new bit at Kaer Morhen. The rest of it was fine.
>not specialising in kung fu
>specialising in magic shit
>>122813342
I don't see why they wouldn't do it the same way.
>>122813421
They have a pretty similar record in regards to actually accomplishing their goals, really. In as much as they mostly just fuck everyone over for the sake of mixed successes at best because they're extremely over ambitious and their plans are batshit because of it.

How is it autistic to say that in all seriousness the waifu patch was shit? It was shit and it only got implemented due to Trissfags. I don't know how I can be considered autistic for pointing that out even if the original post was a shit post.
>>122813907
It was the serious response that was autistic. The rest is just opinions.I hate the Triss romance but honestly she really did need more dialogue in Act 3
At least they didn't have to waste time and money getting the VAs back in since they were presumably already there to record stuff for Hearts of Stone. Also apparently a few of the lines had already been recorded ages ago but just never implemented.
>>122814083
I agree she needed more content but the quality that they implemented was terrible.
>>122813630
Take the blue fisstech, Ciri
>>122814185
I really don't envy them having to come up with dialogue for a late game GeraltxTriss romance. Romantic dialogue is really hard as it is. Even harder to come up with ways to make his one good and natural, given it's anything but in terms of the overall plot.
I used to think it was insane hyperbole but looking back I really am starting to think it would have been better if Triss just wasn't an option in TW3. Gotta have choices though I guess. Same thing with the Empress ending. Should have taken those resources and applied them elsewhere. Like imagine if Reasons of State as more justified and interacted more with your earlier choices? Like Radovid would be much harder to kill if you didn't bring him the megascope crystal, because he'd trust Geralt less?
>>122814580
Pre-emptive disclaimer on this: I'm not saying either of those things could never be justified. A good group of writers can justify almost anything if they spend enough time writing the hell out of it and the game focuses on it enough. But the game they set out to make in TW3 was never going to be able to do that, so better to spend the resources on poorly implementing those two things on stuff more natural to the story they were telling.

It's very subtly implied that mages were involved in Philippa's arrest in TW2 and this is how Carduin got in good with Radovid.
>>122815354

Talked to Graham and we're on the way to the tower then I can leave them to their sexy time but I'm beginning to think it's gonna end badly for him ya know.

>>122818117
>It's been 5 years as thanned happened in July 1267 and the thrid game takes place in may-to an unknown time in 1272.
Still contradicts earlier game timelines which themselves contradict the books which themselves contradict each other.
Just assume a +/- 5 year margin of error on any numerical date you're given.
>>122818238
Only contradiction in the games is that brenna takes place in 1265 but cdpr also said it takes place in 1268 and Geralt and Yen dying in September 1268 when it was actually June 1268 in the novels, but that's a pretty minor one. The only timeline error during the saga is when Crach says Ciri was 11 when she stayed in Skellige when she had to be 10. Season of Storms does have timeline issues, but the rest fo the books don't have that many ouside of the one I listed and the timeline error in the very first short story he wrote.

Geralt has NEVER done this, only when he had no other choice.

Did you read what I said? I said "willingly", there's a difference than being forced into a situation (Witcher 2 for example) than actually going out of your way to do so. The whole Nilfgaard/Temeria wins ending is bullshit, the whole draw from Geralts character is that he tries to avoid all that politcal bulslhit unless forced, if Radovid wins then he won based on him being the superior commander and having the better army. Shit happens,, the best man won, you don't need "muh chosen one" Geralt to fuck that up
>>122821958
Both of those situations are vastly different then the Rad one.
>>122822146
I think that's actually one of those choices that could be argued either way without breaking character, unlike some other big ones I could name. I mean Geralt never willingly gets involved in a big political shitstorm in the books but after Thanedd, he didn't get another chance to. Certainly reading Time of Contempt he wishes he had been more involved at Thanedd and even echoes Ciri's earlier "Neutrality is contemptible" thing.
You're basically arguing that Geralt never changes though, which I think is silly. I don't entirely disagree with you and think Geralt not getting involved is a reasonable interpretation, but I don't think it's as cut and dried as you present it and you're being a bit deliberately obtuse to make it seem that way.
>>122822171
Yeah unlike at Rivia he actually has a personal stake in Radovid not winning since it makes things very dangerous for people he cares deeply about.
>>122822146
>Did you read what I said?

>>122822146
>the whole draw from Geralts character is that he tries to avoid all that politcal bulslhit unless forced,
That's a really small part of Geralt's character. I'm not sure how you're getting that as his entire draw and the point of his character arc somehow. Especially when you're describing it as a constant so it's not actually an arc.
Geralt's "draw" is more his self deception and repressed self loathing as it gradually erodes around Yennefer and especially Ciri and his weird mix of bitter cynicism with battered childlike idealism
>>122822341
Dandelion was at Rivia same with Yarpen and Zoltan. Two dwarfs who are his friends and one human who often gets mistaken for an elf and was his best friend. Geralt gets involved for their sake and stopping a race riot is vastly different then participating in a killing of a king for a free temaria.
>>122823006
>and stopping a race riot is vastly different then participating in a killing of a king for a free temaria.
He doesn't do it "for a free temeria". No one even tries to tempt him with that prospect. Dijsktra never uses it a an argument. See what I mean about being deliberately obtuse to make your point?
>Dandelion was at Rivia same with Yarpen and Zoltan. Two dwarfs who are his friends and one human who often gets mistaken for an elf
Geralt is in love with a sorceress, friend with another, and father to a woman who the Witchhunters would love to burn for similar reasons.
>>122822341
I disagree. I don't think Geralt would have got involved with this assination, he was reluctant in Witcher 2 and then he was pretty much forced to get involved.
Nah, teaming up with Djikstra just seems stupid to me and totally breaks character to get the "and everybody in temeria lived happily ever after" ending.
>>122822763
I did address it, you implied that I was saying Geralt would NEVER get involved (hence you using the term "sometimes it's impossible NOT to get involved") which could be applicable to anybody, I was specifically referring to if Geralt were given the choice which in this situation he definitely was.
>>122822964
Yea, dunno why I said that, I meant to say "one of my favorite draws", I admire how he's not another "SAVE EVERYBODYS PROBLEM AND MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER" type hero.
It's fine though, i'm sure nobody in /wtc/ broke character that bad and turned Geralt into an Ezio tier assassin,r-right?
>>122823548
So we're at the part where we just restate our arguments at each other over and over because everyone refuses to give any ground. Oh well, back to meme posting.

Only idiots and brochefags interpret that ending that way.

I said those things about Dandelion, Yarpen, and Zoltan cause you implied that Geralt had no personal stake in stopping the riot at Rivia.
I can see him killing Rad in a different situation but participating in an assassination isn't him.

It's been awhile since I read it and it was the shitty fan translation but I don't remember them actually being in immediate danger at Rivia. Am I wrong?
>>122815147
Cunnyfer, Geraldo and Reginald are hardly an army, although they received help from outsiders like Phillipa and used some deus machina shit to kill him.
>>122823972
I'm willing to grant it's just another guy that's accidentally really shitty at posting and sounds like he's from /v/. Maybe I'm just paranoid after last thread.

Dandelion looks at him and says he often gets mistaken for an elf and Geralt then tells him to get down to the cellar and stay down there while he goes outside to try to get them away fromance the tavern. What I found interesting was that Geralt wasn't even trying to kill anyone he was clearly done by the events at Rivia. If he only he went for the kills instead of showing mercy ;_;
They were in pretty immediate danger and if Geralt didn't go out to the streets there was nothing stopping the mob from rushing the tavern and killing them.
>>122824301
I dub you Pseudo-Goldenface
>>122824365
Alright fair enough, I had trouble reading the fan translation in the first place and it was ages ago. I still don't think it's a stretch to say that Geralt's attitudes may have changed after Thanedd and that there's textual support of that very thing, but the direct comparison to Rivia is probably going too far.
>>122824365
>fromance
It's from and romance mixed together. Curse my sloppy typing on my phone.
>>122817593
I hope you are trlling m8
honestly if you don't do the assassination you miss out on some really good Radovid and Philippa stuff plus leave a whole subplot dangling, which even with Dijkstra suddenly going full retard despite being really good at this earlier in the game just isn't worth it imho (in my humble opinion)
>>122824609He is.

Gaunter a best
To be fair, goldenface-kun has a point and I got Radovid ending as well. It makes no sense Geralt willingly helping Radovid especially when assisting him to his knoweldge would either:
>Have him be killed by Roache
>Have Emhyr become in charge who would inevitable hunt down Ciri and ensure that she is never safe
It's trash, I let the empires have it out themselves, let the best nation win I guess.Radenia confirmed the strongest military force

You can only post in this thread if you support the best military leader in the witcherverse.
Not so fast Emhyrkeks, Foltestfags, Natalisfags, and Henseltfags.

Yeah some people have thought that. Also argued against a decent amount of people who thought that Folest was responsible for the victory at Brenna and the battles that Natalis won while pushing Nilfgaard back to the Yaruga even though the books and the second game says that Natalis was the reason Foltest won his wars.

It would be extremely painful

Foltest is a really good face man and inspiring leader but he's not the guy to go to for the actual battle plans and troop movements. Henselt has a similar issue, although Foltest is smarter than him at least.

alright I'll make one then
I restarted a game not long ago, had to stop before the end of my first playthrough because I didn't have time to play anymore.
Now the growing season's over so I'm playing like an absolute madman.
I just finished the Brother in Arms questsgot everybody but Trissand I'm wondering if I should go to the Isle of Mists right now or wait until I'm done with pretty much everything.unless she shows up magically in Kaer Morhen
I'm level 25 right now.
Is the game over soon after the Kaer Morhen battle?
Will I get the occasion to complete everything after that, including Hearts of Stone?
>>122831905
Isle of Mists is a good point to do all the stuff you can, after that some things change particularly in Novigrad. You still have a good amount of game left after that.
It's where my save for the DLC is at anywayBattle of Kaer Morhen is the dumbest shit in the series just a heads up
>>122806365
>>122806520
>>122806634
Alvin was supposed to be Ciri's son from time fuckery, they dropped the whole thing about Ciri's son being the chosen one and just made her it. I guess to make the plot simpler for casuals
Would it be possible to remove the collar on the mastercrafted Wolf armor? It really bugs me how much Geralt's hair and chin clips through it
>>122832861
So you'd recommend doing every quest and exploration I can before going to get Ciri?
Ignoring all the waifu shit I can't stand Triss.
They forced the fuck out of her in TW2 even if you go with Shani and her voice actress and overall character is annoying. You can completely remove her from TW3 and nothing would change, all she contributes is "idk lol talk to this fortune teller"

Finally saw the end of that quest... I'm glad for George even though he's dead. As for Kiera that lying bitch... I was really mad at her for taking advantage of me and wanted to kill her but the option to take her down for some punishment later at Kaer Morhan popped up and I couldn't resist.
Was this a wise decision? Will I get to build a harem later on that place?
Also speaking of harems, I'm now at the beginning of Ladies of the Wood quest feeling excited just after finishing the Baron questline up to the part where I have to see her daughter in Oxenfort. Been looking forward to seeing these hottie witches until Geralt crushed the candy and there were a buncha worms in it, what the hell are these "ladies" up to and should I be feeling thirsty for these witches or should I hold off until I reach Oxenfort?
>>122833350
I wouldn't say she's useless but she's pretty minor compared to Yen and Ciri in the main story. They pretty much went back to the books in the third game.
>>122842638
I just saw the tapestry and they're looking pretty hot I guess they're just into the gross stuff which I don't mind a bit.
>>122844190
Is this bait or are you sincerely doing a first time playthrough?
>>122844254
Dunno what you mean by bait I don't mean to spoil things for anybody... I played the game a few months ago but only got to the beginning of Velen. The whole world after White Orchard place was overwhelming and I had a lot of things going on at work at the time so I put it off...
Now work's calmed down I started a new game with some mods like the autoloot and fast travel mod, really liking the game if I just focus on doing everything I can on Velen...
>>122844503
You won't spoil anything for anyone. If anything you will get spoiled yourself so be careful around here or else you might ruin the game for yourself. Have fun, I envy you.

I guess I'll be holding my boner until I reach Oxenfort... thanks.

To be fair, the only way to see through her plot is to know that there were 2 sisters and a brother, not 3 sisters.
It's not like their names were really obvious english ones. The names were Marissa, Moira, and Murron. Marissa is obviously female, but the other two are very hard to discern.
I would love another rpg set in the witcher universe where you could play as a traditional rpg character and you could choose from witcher, sorceress, bandit and all that jazz. What could be some fitting classes in such an rpg?
