Have some patience and save your fuel. I'm constantly hovering around 200 fuels without buying more fuel(had in the past), but I'm not spending unless it's 6 fuel weekend(which saw me use about 40 stocked), or something I REALLY want. I just made sure to get my favorite plane.
Most of the time I'll just aim to complete challenges if I consider benefits are worthwhile compared to cost of creating the aircraft set, research refunds lost, upgrade costs, and opportunity costs of missing out on S ranks, and thus credits.
The fact I frequently get top 3000 without trying is just a bonus.

Damn son, I've only used like 12 stocked in my life and I've never gone much higher than 50. I only used them one day when I wanted to play more than 15 minutes and then another time on a special raid.
The thing that sucks is that by the time I ever get a special plane, I would already have the standard counterpart at like level 20 or something. All those credits down the drain.

I thought the plane cost was the one with the restriction and not the MR, my MR is around 1670 and I go in cost restricted rooms hosted by someone with a 2000+ MR and they don't usually do that well without their high cost planes

I'm pretty sure you can restrict roughly by MR if you change the search range. There's narrow, standard, wide, and maybe one more category.
I'm not seeing many rooms with restricted cost, which isn't surprising because I doubt many high MR players want to impose handicaps when they can just fly with other high MR players.
The thing is that the standard search range restriction is default, so in these countless rooms where I'm seeing 7 1500 players and one 2000, that means the host went out of his way to widen the search range so we can all get clubbed. They never put cost restrictions on the room either, so it's like they deliberately want to get clubbed or want others to get clubbed. It makes no sense. They're almost making if infinitely worse by creating 8 player rooms instead of 4 or 6 players, which means that there's even fewer scraps left over for the low MR guys and the one high MR guy just sweeps the entire map before anyone can even lock onto a target.
So what ends up working better for <1500 cst, dropping levels and keeping parts or dropping less levels and using no/small parts?

Why are so many people doing Alps HARD? There's one challenge that gives only 10k credits and considering it takes 100k points to complete, it's not worth the time or the sorties.

That has to be one of the most pathetic excuses for owning two PS3s that I've heard of if it's true. Before this update, I only saw that happening every once in a while, but today it was legitimately happening in every single room I joined except for two of them.
Like I said, that's not the only unusual thing happening. Nobody was joining low MR clubber-free rooms to the point where it was always stuck on 5/6 or 6/8. All the host had to do was change the fucking number of players but instead we all just sat there for 15+ minutes waiting for one person that never showed up, at which point I would just try to find another room that inevitably had a clubber in it.

I wanted to get a capture card for a while now but I know nobody would watch, plus I'm not very entertaining - only 1500 MR, shit planes, shit weapons, no skill.

I have seriously been considering switching to my alt account but I hate the nickname, plus I'd be missing out on the 20 campaign sortie fuels. Problem is I had zero idea what I was doing or how the game worked when I got into it, so I research EVERYTHING, bought damn near every plane, and leveled up planes that I will never use.
Now I've got level 2s, 3s, and 4s everywhere and I'm still miles away from the planes I want. On top of this, I'm starting to feel OCD about how ugly and spread out my tree looks.

I made the same mistakes, that 6x sortie with research boosts was a great help fixing up mistakes. I used to buy fuel before I worked out extra hangar slots were more efficient,and the game has just kept chucking fuel at me like crazy! (touch wood) .
I've been just working on one plane at a time, taking to at least 7 for the low/mid tier. That Frogfoot has been awesome @7! the under 1500cst has breathed new life into the game for me.

Watch a few Youtube videos and practice expert controls in test flight for a little while. The biggest trick I learned was to always be attacking, always change targets, and keep laying down the law. When I first started, I would just keep focusing on one enemy and waste so much. Helped me go from like a 10k player to a 30-50k player.
If you're not actually retarded, you'll be pretty competent in about a week or less. Then it's just a matter of leveling up your planes and ironing out the finer kinks.
Only stick to rooms with people within a few hundred MR of you. Avoid "Beginners welcome" rooms with 2000+ MR hosts. Campaign is good for practice too and worth the shekels.

I feel like it's best to just treat the GPB like it doesn't have any AOE. The thing that I hate most about it is how hard it is to lock on the target of choice from a distance. I always switch to standard missiles to lock on and then switch back to GPB.

It's weird that GPB cycles targets based on proximity to bomb landing point. It makes sense when the reticle's visible, but not so much when it's at the bottom of the screen or off-screen entirely.
