After the prologue you'll open the game menu, and when you start the "real game" (little spoiler on game experience, not on plot)you'll replay the same timespan with another character, gaining a new point of view and some new infos but with a deja-vu feeling. It's the only part I found a little boring of all F/SN, after it you'll be crazy for wanting to know how the story continues

There's various side routes you unlock after doing a certain number of main routes, and a couple gag endings, as well as an extra main route once you do all the rest. I had no idea there were H-scenes in FS/N, I just played it because UBW was airing soon and I wanted to see what everyone was talking about. I didn't even know what a VN was, I expected it to have RPG elements looking at the art. It obviously subverted my expectations, but I was very engrossed and loved the concept.
The atmosphere before the first H-scene was so tense and stressful, and then the voices stopped and they started talking about "mana transfer." When I realized what mana transfer meant, it completely broke my suspension of disbelief and I laughed nervously a bit before hesitantly clicking through the scene. "There's no way this is real" I thought, but lo and behold, there was an awkward, completely unexpected threesome playing out on monitor.
The way they tried to justify these scenes as necessary for the plot to progress was pathetic, but fuck they were funny. I later recommended FS/N to my brother as a game where a "redheaded Japanese high schooler made of swords falls in love with and has sex with King Author but the story is amazing, I swear."

I had the same experience, that scene just came out of nowhere. Even once I realized it was sex I expected it to be ritualized in some way, but no it was just a straight up threesome.
Frankly I think the h-scenes in Heaven's Feel were the best, just because there isn't any bullshit justification for it, it's just two people who want to bang, banging.
Plus there's that underlying sense of unease through the whole route that really changes your perspective and makes you feel like there's bigger picture stuff going on even when it's really just fucking.
