BEFORE ASKING TO BE SPOONFED, TRY THE FOLLOWING:
● Read the cards.
● Lurk and read the archives.
● Try and keep your deck as close to 40 cards. This increases dramatically your chances of drawing the cards you need.
● Google your Deck before you post it here. If your deck is/was competitive it will probably have topped an event.
● Most Yu-Gi-Oh Games have an option between Singles (Self explanatory, a single Game) and Matches (Best of 3). It is recommended that you play Matches, as Singles does not teach you how to use your Side Deck.

For what it's worth, Lamia actually has no real restrictions. Is searchable by the contract. And can use the contract so summon itself once.
It's technically fully playable to play Lamia in non-D/D decks. It would just have to be a Synchro deck that's worth it.
But searchable level 1 turner that can be special summoned from the hand or graveyard once is in no way bad.
The only real shame is that Orthros can't pop itself to pop a card.
Blue Eyes Ultimate Burst Dragon is pretty much confirmed now.

The 2-mat fusion deals with most issues you'd use R4 for. Norden into any Tuner is also Synchro 5, and Synchro 5 is really great.

Kuri is less consistent no matter how you look at it. While pure does lose out on the OTK potential, it gains quite a bit in consistency, since dead drawing happens much less frequently.
I can also run a slightly lower monster count, meaning my opening hands tend to shift towards more trap heavy openings.
I've got much more room to play around, since I don't need to run certain cards, like Trap Stun.
It's much easier to tool pure to fit the meta as opposed to Karakuri.
I still love the Karakuri build, because who wouldnt.
But as far as viability goes, I think pure is better.

since the organiser himself is on i'd like to ask you specifically about why burn/ftk/exodia is banned, the anon in the thread yesterday literally said it was that they take 'no skill' and that that they are essentially solitaire which led to other anons fedora posting him for saying something retarded. What the 'takes no skill' anon said may or may not be true but there are a fuckton of other decks that also take no skill (some of which you've also banned but even so...) and all three have cards which fuck them over (notably against burn).
So what i'm asking is essentially this; are you and whoever else in charge of setting this event too butthurt to deal with these normally defined petdecks (or that you just don't want to side counters to them) or is there another good reason to ban them (mostly pointing this to burn/exodia since I do agree that ftks should be banned)?

The Lightning is honestly a good card for the game though.
For starters. It's a good universal out to all of these "Unaffected by everything" monsters in the game. And those cards should have an out.
But that said, for all of its strengths The Lightning still has its flaws. Like how it doesn't do anything outside of the Battle Phase. So if your opponent relies on The Lightning and you stop it in the battlephase, they can't fall back on another pre-battlephase play since they are already in the battlephase.
But above all. It's also a high investment card. Even without being limited, most people only run 1. It requires two cards from your Extra Deck in order to summon. Which is not terrible by itself. But if you want two The Lightning in your deck? That's already a whole third of your extra deck and an unquestionably steep investment.
So it's a potent out to other potent cards who should also be allowed to be in the game. But the investment to play the card is steep, and its number of uses limited. It's a dynamic that works really well.
The Lightning is no problem card. It's just a powerful card.

I removed exodia/ftk/burn decks because:
A. They have semblance of fairness. It's a game of who goes first because if the exodia player goes first it's going to be draw until you mess up or win. Which isn't fair to the other person who took time to build a deck that they actually wanted to play with
B. Burn decks aren't as bad but again it's a set 5 and pass.dek with the five cards being some form of simochi and gift card which doesn't offer a semblance of fairness to the other player who doesn't have damaged juggler in hand and actually wanted to play yugioh
The point of a petdeck isn't to essentially shut down a person from playing yugioh like the meta currently does but to actually inspire good deck building and skillful plays to gain a win. Netdecking the most common exodia and burn decks takes no time at all and I myself do not like that a win is defined by a person drawing their deck out for a five piece card or setting 3 gift cards with bad reaction to simochi.
It's in the spirit of fairness.
