I left back when P4DAN came out in America and haven't visited here since, because I was waiting for it to come out in my country.
Just finished it this afternoon (I think, I did the story then did free dance until I unlocked an extra chapter which was kind of nothing major), and it was pretty fun. First rhythm game I've played since Parappa the Rapper.
Story was nice enough considering the subject material and I'm glad they didn't waste too much time on the shadow stuff at the start. Kanami was cute in her fujoshit clothes and the idols were decent. Ending got a bit silly but I laughed when Nanako apparently just dismissed everything as special effects.
But seriously the worst thing is that they couldn't get Rise's other VA back for this game when she's so important to the plot. The new girl is garbage.
Also are the DLC characters out yet? I didn't see them on the store.

As far as I remember the music didn't change, nothing in the city changed (apart from when when a few bombs went off and the city was raised, though that's not really the city changing) and people would sometimes talk about the terrorists or sin, which really is less extreme than the townsfolk running around in gas masks, preaching the end of the world, students wanting to become shadows, the music changing and the fog enveloping the town. All of that taking place in P4.
P1 barely had a creepy atmosphere. You didn't talk to many people and a lot of those people were too busy with their work or were not bothered by anything.
