Usually either spawns alpha + 1 for me and I'm level 41 or so. Either way they're all pitiful, you can drop a deathclaw in about 4 shots with an automatic assault rifle that's fully modded so just point, shoot and watch them all die and then harvest their delicious flesh.

They took out the Radchild perk that lets you absorb rads to regenerate health.
I took ghoul because it said it heals with radiation but apparently it's fucking retarded because it's only from actively taken rads. So as soon as you half 50 rads on you, you heal 50 hp, but you still keep the rads, which meas your total health is still lowered. It doesn't absorb shit and all levels of the perk just make it heal more, which is useless. I ran around radiated as shit, even with perks and max endurance to make me tanky as shit I just got one or two-shotted because max health was so low with all the rads. And then of course everything from blowing your nose, getting bit by almost every single animal, to being around puddles, gives you rads so you blow through radaways like it's chocolates in a mixed snack bag.
Fucking shit bethesda. Fuckin' nice job. The game runs like shit on a nice computer and a shoddy one. Village making is a fun little sidequest, I'll admit, but anyone with low carryweight makes this annoying as hell. Everything's clay-mation. Dialogue wheel is pants on head retarded, and storyline makes me want to cut myself to get some joy out of it.

I'm constructing a head-canon for the Sole Survivor as a member of the pre-war Enclave, I don't believe it would be too much of a stretch to say that he was a specialist for the Enclave/US Government during the Sino-American war and played a key role in the capture of Wan Yang at the Niagara Sabotage, something something spearheaded Power Armor assault team against the Chinese during Operation Anchorage, was on the first T-51B strike team to invade mainland China in the Yangtze Campaign, and took part in classified ops in the Gobi Campaign before returning home around June, 2077. I believe this ties into the canon very well. . . The Sole Survivor and Nora's marriage is relatively new, Shaun was born in Summer which means there's three months of wiggle room for when he was conceived before the Sole Survivor is deployed, and the Sole Survivor is a decorated United States Armed Forces veteran. In the intro cinematic when the Sole Survivor is preparing his speech for the Veteran's Hall you can even see Sino-American war imagery and I'll be damned if pic related wasn't Operation Anchorage, implying he had been there.

I am so proud of myself. My PC is getting to be toaster tier as of lately so instead of getting a job I wen't full autism yesterday to be able to play this game. I pretty much gutted windows. Disabled every non-crucial service and windows feature, short-stroked my garbage HDD. Managed to get my RAM usage to 5% and processor to 0% idle and since I kill explorer.exe after I load the game I was able to basically edit the ini allocate every bit of my shitty 4gb of RAM to Fallout 4. That along with my i5 2500k and gtx 760 I can now play on Ultra settings (godrays on low) at 1080p at a steady 50-60fps in most areas.

How do I put a muzzle attachment onto a laser musket? I know it exists, because I've seen muskets with them, and some of the barrel options specify that you can't attach a muzzle attachment, which implies that you can with the bracketed barrels, but I don't see a slot option on the workbench for muzzles at all.
I even have a laser musket in my inventory with a scatter muzzle attachment, as well as a beam focuser, but the slot's just not there.

Testing out how giving settlers weapons works.
They don't use any ammo ong uns you give them, although I think they need to have some ammo to start with. Not tested it with plasma weapons or stuff like miniguns yet, but it works with combat rifles/laser wapons etc.
And before anyone gets a bright idea, I tried it with the fatman. They don't have infinite mini nukes.I was so dissapointed.
An addiotnal, weapons with poison damage and such, the effect doesn't seem to stack.
Tested it with a poisoners minigun on some raiders.
Makes these guns a bit useless since the added damage effect is so small.

Actually this was my downfall, if I were to play as the character I probably would have made way to the Institute sooner than I had, it got hard avoiding all the side stuff, but doing the side quests would be imo out of line with any action the in game story character would take. What's weird is the choices of who and who isn't immortal. You can outright shoot Desdemona, Father, and Arthur Maxson to death, breaking their questlines, but the Sanctuary 5 are immortal, as are some traders.
The thing is there are some characters who are not essential but "protected", in other words if taken down by an NPC they'll stagger and go down temporarily but if taken down by you they'll be murdered. A good example of these are your non-foundation Settlers, the Courser at Bunker Hill, etc.
