All godswords minus BGS(corp/KQ)/AGS (for pking) are massively overpriced
Spiritshields are supremely overpriced despite being actually impactful
DFS is overpriced as fuck
All cerb boots are absurd, especially primordials
Arma crossbow is stupid as fuck
Bandos/Arma is 2-3x too expensive
I can easily afford about half of the stuff I listed at once (minus spirit shields) but I can't convince myself to actually spend the money since they could crash at any time, and are minimal gain for maximum cash

Oh then you're gonna love this.
The SGS allows you to complete any non boss slayer task from Nieve in the game without having to bank for any additional food that your inventory couldn't hold. It's also the best special weapon to bring for farming DKS, which is one of the best money makers in the game once you're a high level with the appropriate diary done.
The ZGS is one of the best special attack items to use when pking in multi-zones in the wilderness with comrades. It has the ability to freeze opponents for the same length as the spell Ice barrage would, without having to use any Mage attributes.
All spirit shields have their own unique ability which justifies their price. The Arcane provides the BIS for offensive magic attack and great defensive stats overall. The Spectral provides the BIS magic defense shield in the game, as well as a unique perk given to it for killing Cerberus. The Elysian provides the BIS item for defence; period.
The Dragonfire shield provides amazing defensive stats while also providing the highest strength bonus acquirable in game. The item is also an incredibly rare drop from certain dragons in game.
The enchanted boots Cerberus drops the parts too are not absurd. They boost the previous BIS boots a bit for a small fee. The primordial crystal is the only real expensive one which may have some grounds for truly being debatable on it's pricing.
The Armadyl crossbow is the BIS 1 handed range item in the game and has a special attack to increase the hit's accuracy. It also serves as a spot for an Armadyl item which is the best to bring for killing Kree'arra.
Bandos and armadyl are both the BIS items for their respective bonuses. Their drops are not as common as other drops and it can be difficult for any other player that isn't with a team of high level players to obtain.

Sgs is good for bossing content and supremely overrated for slayer. At decent combat levels (which you need to hit decent) you can generally 1 trip all tasks. ESPECIALLY if you are cannoning/piety/both

All the BIS items are buyable. There is not enough untradeable BIS gear in the game.
The reason they keep introducing new good tradeable junk is because untradeables are fucking broken in pvp and they are afraid of fixing it (as in causing them to be permanently lost on death).

So long as an item is bis for something and isn't a fairy common item it's going to be expensive. That's how the game has always worked. Rarity and demand also plays a big role in the prices so you can't dismiss it.
Does this mean that these items are HORRIBLE for the price you have to pay? Generally yes, but it's always going to be.

It's price is validated by it's rarity. Items that have great uses but have a low rarity of obtaining are set to a higher market price. This is the way most MMORPG work.

One item you should look into is the Fighter Torso. Although it has less defense than a Rune Platebody (and is rage-inducing to get if you don't have a clan to play Barbarian Assault with,) it has a neat strength bonus, and many players consider it to be BiS behind the Bandos Chestplate.
