Wew lad, this game has been a blast to play. I gave up on it a year ago because I couldn't get past the stage where you get swarmed by skeletals. Then I picked it up a couple weeks ago and this time I actually managed to grasp the concept of turn link and ever since I mostly beat every level without giving the enemy a chance to move. The last few stages pretty much require you to do so.
It is a shame more games like this will be made, it was so refreshing in terms of challenge while at the same time not treating the player like a total retard.
Also, god gun is OP as fuck, holy shit. Pluton bullet 14x shots for 400 dmg each when Geoff is buffed. Killed the final boss in one attack.

I needed to retry the fight a hundred times until I found Pluton Shot + buffs. Final boss died without taking a turn. Since... well, if it takes a turn then one of your character is 100% dead.

Indeed. That's what I loved about the game. It was incredibly satisfying killing everything before the enemies had a chance to act.

Dunno, probably 20 different series. However they're not all that connected between each other. Some are entirely stand alone and some of them it's 4-5 loosely connected. You can view any of them on their own, but as I said, if you want to get into the entire multiverse it's a huge time commitment.

No, it just takes a try to figure out. For me the beautiful art distracted and mislead me from realistically guessing the attack hitboxes.
Once I got it, it was reliable and easier. Just make sure you have and use the dodge, and it's worth having 2 or 3 consecutive dodges, I've always been fine with 2 but 3 is a nice cushion of invincible dodging across screen.

I think I finally have my core team together in tactics ogre, just got hobyrim after recently getting ravness, vyce, arycelle, mirdyn and gildas a few missions earlier. Gamplay is fantastic, flight is everything I wanted it to be and it feels a lot more fluid than HF. You get a dungeon boss (a la HF) and a Area Boss (fought in the field where you and the boss can fly). Frames occasionally stutter in dungeon boss fights when you're up close to them if a lot of stuff is going on (boss special, sword skill and a buff animation at the same time for example) but beyond that it's a solid game and I love it. Prettier than HF too which is always nice

Here the big question, why does it matter? If the vita version is enjoyable and performs to standards you deem acceptable it is good regardless, if it doesn't then it is bad regardless. As a 30 year old who's not adverse to some in-game promiscuity every once and a while, I can't for the life of me stomach the scenes involving Nay. What appears to be a 5 year old is walking around scantily clad with her crack showing constantly, and no one bats an eyelash.

Superbeat is a sort of spiritual successor to the DJ Max series, which used a shitload of Korean artists and DJs who made original music for the games. It's the same case here, so it's not really surprising you aren't familiar with any of the artists. The soundtrack is great though. 57 unique songs, with 2 extra playable extended versions.

The console's completely packed with 7-8/10 Japanese games. Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars, Muramasa, Oreshika, Nosurge,nepnep, Atelier, that sort of thing. If bright colorful games appeal to you then you're going to love it. Disgaea games have always been best on portable systems since they're so grindy and long, it's way too tedious to sit in front of a PC monitor and focus on solely for 300+ hours to do everything. You're making a lot of assumptions about a seemingly inconsequential release if you're comparing it to MH's transition this early.
The MH situation was mainly Sony's problem anyway. When Capcom released MHP3rd they needed to massively overhaul the ad hoc mode to support the amount of data being transferred and reduce latency. Sony said Capcom should have to pay for it themselves, but rightly so Capcom didn't want to have to pay a large sum of money for an infrastructure problem on Sony's part, especially when the upgrade would be also utilised by other developers for free afterwards. It was after that they jumped over to Nintendo, and they seem happy enough there so there isn't any need to go back. It wasn't a huge argument and there isn't a contract with Nintendo contrary to popular belief, it just benefits both Capcom and Nintendo since the 3DS is selling better. I also read somewhere that Nintendo funds much more marketing for the series compared to Sony in the PSP days.

The main draw of the games is not the gameplay, but the wacky and fun characters and the crazy situations they get into. The gameplay for the series, originally, wasn't very good. Most recently they've been stepping their game up. The remakes help get newer players into it too.
Since CH has a budget of about $10, they reuse a lot of assets. This is disappearing more and more in their newer games, but its still there.
So unless you're really into the characters and the games high level of humor, you may or may not be able to look past certain design flaws.
