I'd use a plasmathrower but the ammo is so expensive. Sticking to my sniper until there's mods to craft ammo or I find a way to make it plentiful, since scrounger ain't cutting it.
My main gun is still a plasma sniper though. I have a ballistic sniper for stealth and a recon 10mm for... recon, plus a .44 bull for feral ghouls. Nice little assortment of weaponry, shame my laser sniper that does 50% extra on targets at full health is starting to lag behind.
The game has some fun parts to it, but also has a lot of flaws. Why is it people seem much more hostile about this game, then others? You have to either love it entirely or hate it with all your gut. No middle ground and your Hitler for thinking something else.

I never used my power armor until I beatKellog, now since I have 40+ cores I just use it all the time.
Definitely helps since now when you you have to fight multiple enemies you can just shrug off their shots compared to not wearing armor where you get killed in 4-5 shots and have to spam stimpaks to survive.

It's like this for almost every AAA game, the ones who purchased it may not want to acknowledge that the game has flaws so instead they claim it's perfect. Then on the other end is shitposters who pirated it and shitpost about it, or maybe not played it at all.
Once you do some tweaks to the graphics to make it not be absolute ass in inner-city areas, the exploration and scavenging aspect of the game is amazing, similar to Fallout 3, that's one thing Obsidian didn't really nail down very well in NV. Then there's the flaws (muh Shaun, dialogue system, voiced protag, unneeded rework to skill and perk system, etc)

Surplus gets transferred to your workshop daily. You might have to be away from the settlement though, I'm not sure. Seems like I only get about 2/3 what I'm supposed to as well, still a fucking lot though.
Also I know for a fact you don't have to be away from the settlement for crops to respawn and they seem to respawn more than once a day. Maybe that's where the extra water goes to. I've seen them several times re-grow fruit in front of me.

Not really, the only really close one is House/Institute, but that's a similarity of being a pre-war tech powerhouse without much personal outside contact.
The Minutemen (depending on you progress them and deal with the settlement mechanics) are more like an early NCR ala Fallout 1 or 2, though mechanically they do fill the Yes Man role of "if you piss off all other factions, this one's for you".
Railroad seems to bear no similarity to the NCR whatsoever other than maybe a vague sense of 'acceptance' or 'tolerance', and how exactly does the Brotherhood resemble a federation of slavers and former tribesmen? They're zealots sure, but not even of a similar stripe.

Well ghouls only go feral when they lose hope completely and run out of things to live for. Some ghouls take a good long time to go feral BECAUSE they have a quest - Desmond, Zao, Siegmeyer, Daisy, are all good examples of ghouls who don't go feral as long as they have things to do.

So I'm pretty early into the game and a random Settler that joined Sanctuary was wearing a unique looking armor when i unequipped it to see what it was it turned out to be "Cage Armor" 24 Physical resist and 27 energy resist. This is twice as good as anything I've found so far. I've mostly leveled up and spent my first 22 hours building up the town around the 4 houses in Sanctuary that are next to and across the street to the house you start in.

They're not, you can tell because almost every building/room has little stories. If you want to see random item placement, look at DayZ. You just get a bunch of shit in the middle of the floor.
Somebody at Bethesda goes into a room, and hand places things in it to try and convey what that room was supposed to be before the way and what it might be turned into now.

When exploring the city I came across these 'containment pods', which I assume are for people to get in if the bombs fall.
I opened one up and a skeleton fell out.
Another time I was exploring the city and I saw a raider struggling to open a fridge while mumbling to himself. I killed him, cracked it open, and took all the shit.
I live for just those little things you chance upon. Not random events where somebody approaches you, or you find something and get a quest. Just minding my own business and I find something unique that has no actual impact on anything important.
Bethesda went all out this time around on that kind of shit, and I love it.

so much this... random shit in this game distracts me so much, i got like 60 hour playtime, im at the mainquest when you have to go to diamond city and get info about kid, im lv 26 on survival with like quarter/third of the map explored, most of the areas cleared, but i still have some higher zones/leftovers to clear.

There's lots of healing items in the game, like bloodpacks and purified water. Some food even heals a lot more than a stimpack, like deathclaw steaks. The best way to heal is by sleeping anyway.
