That's the whole point. Unlike a lot of other mechanics, Avalanche/Infiltrate are based on universal board position instead of relative board position.

IMO the whole problem about vanar is that the duck full steems run on three cards; voice of the wind, razorback and glaciar elemental. All this cards need the walls to proc, and that's the only reason why you run it stopping movement or positioning be damned. Well as songhai it all boils down to killing them before they kill you, unless you are playing some unusual list, as Vet put as much healing as you can into your deck and stall untill you get stars fury + wish and just kill him since they cant really play around it that well.
