Nigga no, Aldridge was a straightforward character, just because he didn't need an exciting or twisted backstory like some others =/= boring, he was a working man who did his job and when the outbreak commenced and came knocking at his door, he knew it was time to spring to action.
Plus, he's the posterboy for welding and to some extent, a rep for Support, but with how bad that actually is now, it can't really be as glorified as it once was.

What would be your vision of KF2 in how to make it perfectly balanced and feel fun for each class? Keep in mind that there are 10 classes and only 6 players in a game. I have my own visions of how I would design KF2 at this point but Im more curious to hear what you all have to say.

I both really love and really hate Tripwire right now. KF2 is some of the most fun I've had with a video game in a long time, but their complete lack of updates for MONTHS is fucking ridiculous. They're so busy that they can't tweak some numbers in a balance patch every few weeks at least? And we're only getting 1 perk after all this time staying tuned? Remove the selectable perk benefits and just have set perk benefits. The game simply has selectable benefits that are objectively bad, but your teammates choose them because they don't know what they're doing, like a demo not using siren resistance. Fucking why?

Also, a lot of the perk benefits simply remove the need for skill. Armor should be expensive and limited, but with the medic you don't even need to purchase it. One or two medics can completely heal up your entire team

I remember last night in HoE pubs we had a good game going then this retard decides to weld a door on the last wave. I'm tanking 2 FPs, 1 SC, and the door breaks unleashing a ton of trash leaving me and the medic alive and the rest dead. And he was wondering why he always wipes wave 10. Christ.

As to how you implement it, you could give it to all perks, and just have Support deal less damage to the door when he does it.

Weapons? I'm pretty certain any decent modeler and texture artist working full-time could make an entire perk load-out in a week. Animations have already been motion captured ages ago too.
Maps? KF1 maps came out at a more consistent rate and had just as much attention to detail, with the exception of course of breakable lights and physics objects everywhere which I still think is a waste of effort when 90% of the players are going to stay in the same spot for the entire game and only visit the rest of the map for trader runs.
Characters? Voice acting all the lines can and is probably done in a day. Implementing all the lines should be easy by now since they have an established template with triggers. Character model should be done shortly after.
Gameplay changes and additions? The core game is basically done at that point. They already have all the data they could ever need for perk changes and anything else could be discussed at a staff meeting in an afternoon with a bunch of coffees. Every creative decision concerning future perks and additions must have already been thought of for fucking years now.

The PPsh used a 71 round drum magazine IRL. The ammo, 7.62mmx25mm, same as a .30 caliber pistol cartridge. I would imagine that you would have less stopping power than the 9mm you have in game but the PPsh fired at 900+ round per minute. Maybe balanced by the fact it would chew through ammo and take 2-3 bullets to the head to drop a single clot. If that's too much just put the 35 round stick mag on it and call it a day.

I agree that in a well coordinated team they can abuse shit like body blocking and nuke to really trivialize the gameplay but teamwork and strategy should also be rewarded.

The numbers are too damn low on support, why wont they realize this? Damage? Ammo? Its barely scraping the shotgun barrel at this point, 2% damage bonus per level will make it strong again but look at everything else at this point, especially zerks and firebugs who are upfront, don't need to do burst damage and can fire as they please without much drawback.

In a game like Killing Floor (ie. co-operative), I think buffs should always be the first port of call before nerfs. Having a class that is slightly "overpowered" (I'm not sure I would describe any class as this at the moment) will always be better for the game as a whole than a class that is underpowered.

From a gameplay perspective, everyone can play the class they want to, without feeling like they're being gimped.

From the perspective of "how do we keep this game alive," having a weaker class is going to alienate a small amount of players who may lose interest with the game.

medic armor regen at full health is my biggest concern. it's made medic a chore to play and fucks with the dosh economy by making armor purchases entirely negligible. it also encourages people to play like even bigger idiots because lel 100% armor regen all day.
personally i think the MWG only needs a slight nerf to splash damage, while the trenchgun needs an overall damage boost.
zerker just needs zwei nerfed and he'll be fine. unlimited stab stumble is dumb and the zwei in general just does too much damage. 200hp might also be too much but that's arguable.

Zerker could certainly catch a nerf I don't know what it is though, right now they're always topping damage charts by a significant margin. I'm talking 400k damage to the next closest 100-150k, plus they're nearly invincible, I've seen zerkers solo 50+ remaining zeds in a wave, just doesn't seem right. Agreed on splash damage, MWG in general really isn't that OP though, I imagine they'll nerf the scrake damage when sharpshooter comes out but for now we need a good scrake killer. It's ammo runs out really fast especially with nobody playing support.

Medic armor regen is a tough one. I think 2 armor per shot is a good balance. That's where I'm at right now (only level 19) and it takes a good while to actually fill someone's armor. Plus with people moving around it actually requires some skill to heal armor. 4 armor per shot is probably too much since you can heal up someones armor in a matter of seconds. I do hate people who don't buy armor though and stand around waiting for medics to heal it. Especially when they wont stand still.

M2 straight to the head before it can connect an attack to knock it down, then hit its head while it's on the ground. If it's still alive by the time it gets up then Zwei pokes to the head should prevent it from attacking, otherwise parry the attacks (even if they're unparryable, you'll still take less damage than blocking) and keep aiming for the head.

For Scrakes I always like to parry their first attack before knocking them down, just makes it easier to hit the head for me. Then just like with FPs try to hit the head while it's down, if it does the standing chainsaw attack don't stand in that shit or you're gonna die.
Also don't be afraid to move in and out of its melee range to bait attacks, specially parryable ones
If you're finding it hard to hit its head with overhead attacks try horizontal swings, they're a bit easier to land.

If you don't own Chivalry then an empty Pulverizer will still do a pretty damn good job against Scrakes too

Extra carrying has no business being an option when it was a passive deal, if it was a natural thing but you had the option to increase your carrying capacity even further, that would be interesting. I was thinking about how to improve the welding mechanics the other day.

I think have destroyed doors respawn after a few waves would be pretty interesting. It would encourage players to move from area to area each wave.

Also a mechanic where if two players are in close proximity to a door, zeds cannot open it for a few seconds. This would be used when players are fleeing from zeds and decide to weld a door behind them. There would be cooldowns and such to stop this from being abused of course

That was my original guess. Gunslinger will probably have powerful headshot damage, so unloading all your heavy bullets into a SC's head would take it down.

Once SS comes out though, that'll be a lot easier, but without the decent trash mob sustain.

Yes. Remain calm and parry, block, and stab (with Zwei). I see so many zerkers die in a big guy sandwich because they're just brainlessly mashing M2 and absorbing 400 damage in about 3 seconds. Sometimes I don't think they even realize how much less damage you take from parrying or how Zwei's stab both stumbles and does big damage. They probably don't even know about Zwei's stab at all.

If your mouse has extra side buttons on it, bind the melee key to one of them. That alone has helped me so much playing Zerker because then my other hand can concentrate solely on movement and directional strikes.
