Does anyone have any clue why mobs aren't spawning around my house? I'm on Normal difficulty and the area's all dark, but at night, no mobs will spawn. Again, the biome is "Subterranean Savanna," which is I think from the Erebus mod. I also have Highlands and BoP installed, however, and maybe they don't play nicely (or it's generating Erebus biomes in the overworld or something)?

Oh, and the world type is Highlands, configured to also spawn BoP biomes.

Only way in vanilla. You can delete the rest of the blocks in the nether so the only area mobs can spawn are at the little portion of nether fortress you have, effectively forcing them to spawn much more.

It's...pretty old. Like alpha version old, including the coordinate arguments. The player rotation argument was only added more recently.

1.7 was adopted in about five months, here's the very rough timeline:

I set up an array of biofuel to RF generator from MFR, and only had to go into the age every now and then to move the pump around when it runs out of nearby biofuel to pump out

There aren't any special beekeeping mods, just forestry.

I'm trying to get silky wisps for the 45 slot backpacks but besides that is there anything worth pursuing with da bees?

Also what's a type of bee that can breed in a jungle biome that isn't the tropical bee already found in the jungle biome? So I can try to cross breed for common, noble, etc.

They mostly just produce basic resources, vanilla forestry isn't that over the top. I've always added ExtraBees/Binnie's mod as a minimum, so can't actually remember what the vanilla species/produce are anymore.

Get a Beealyser/Analyser asap.
Only the princess/queen you are using needs to have the humidity/temp tolerance for jungle, you breed in other traits from drones.
Also, a basic understanding of hereditary traits helps - shit you might have covered in high school bio like punnet squares and dominant/recessive genes.

thaumcraft, botania, and blood magic all have good armor options. I don't believe witchery has anything besides the vampire armor which is kind oh meh. ars magica, idk never got far into it on account of how ugly everything was. blood magic is probably the most over powered, just prepare yourself endless tedious grinding.

I just want to create myself a self-sufficient combination of a few building on an island in the middle of a world where no other islands exist.
Wheat farms, animal farms, sugar cane farms, mines, and all that stuff, but I can never for the love of anything find a map that would allow me to do that.
Also if I managed to get a map like that, it wouldn't work with all the other crazy mods cause I would need a newly generated seed.

Kami armor for thaumcraft if you have the right addon, turns you into a god basically, as the name implies

Blood magic's armor can receive a lot of buffs if crafted right, and you can build an Omega chamber, which, again, if built right, turns you into an unstoppable force for a limited time. Even without Omega, the armor is still great and highly customizable. It's just a bit ugly since way decided it needs a custom model (anyone know)

Botania's endgame armor is nice, but pales in comparison, since it's basically normal armor + HP boosts

Witchery is less about armor and more about what you do to yourself as a player. All of witchery's armor is basically worse than diamond/maybe iron, but it gives buffs to other things you do.


Ultimately, I'd go with blood magic for armor. You are going to need a suit of it anyway to deal with BM elementals

If you are ever at the point you can make kami stuff, you might as well, especially if you use the wand a lot, those reductions are nice. But yeah, I could never be ass'd to make full kami anyway. A magic mod revolved around drawing runes on the ground. Some would be permanent, and some would last a certain amount of time (extendable with some sort of magic fuel or power source). If you have thuamic horizons, look into a vortex attenuator, or whatever they're called - it shoots a beam about 14 blocks from itself, and can supress the "hungry" aspect of a node, which will allow you to get closer/encase in obsisidan/jar it

I kind of had Blood Magic's ritual system in mind when I thought that up, except like everything in BM it's an ugly mess of blocks and they're a total pain to set up. Ideally, drawing a rune could be done quick enough that you could place a Fire Rune to roast a horde of mobs who are on your tail, if you practiced putting it down enough.

This is literally runecraft, which is an old bukkit plugin, was kind of like a precursor to bloodmagic. It's still around, but it's still a SMP mod

You'd probably be hardpressed to make a rune particularly fast, like you could slap down an endurance rune before a hoard of zombies got to you, but some of them were pretty intricate, though ones like that could do things like lift up a giant ball of earth or dig a hole to bedrock

Well, I broke minecraft.

Attacked a spot loader from the mod "ChickenChunks" to a magnetized frame from "Engineer's Toolbox", and then attached a mover to the frame (mover from "Engineer's Toolbox" too).

When I turned the mover on, the game crashed. It closed minecraft - a serious crash! Every time I try to load into that world (single player -> that world), the game loads in for about a second, then crashes, and then minecraft as a whole crashes.

Mods, woooo.

What I was trying to do was attach a chunk loader to a moving tunnel mining machine. If it had worked I would have created a tunnel boring machine that literally never stops (the machine could cope with liquids and falling gravel)
