Some parts are done with RNG, some others have a defined pattern. The real difference between WoW and FFXIV is that FFXIV does not require players to have autistics levels of reaction times. Mistakes can be made. Easy to learn, but mastery of some classes may be difficult if you are not very bright.
All in all it is more a game than WoW, that resembles more a choreography dance.

I don't know what you think is a joke. They're stopping updates to FFXI after this last one, that' why they're having the crossover event in XIV tomorrow. The people working on XI have to do something now, and the best option would be to move them over to XIV since they already have MMO experience.

It's not a far stretch for the remaining to be moved to work with the other FF MMO.

I'm just shut posting on you, honestly the game has it's flaws, if I didn't have a progressed static and FC that I enjoyed socializing with I'd be playing another game with better PvP. Thing is I haven't had to grind any dungeons in over two months, so my perspective on this patch is different than most. For example, this morning we made a 24 man, cleared void ark with my servers community, and had a lot of fun doing it.

The fact that he keeps trying to make content that is just not supported by the combat system HE DESIGNED is a little telling.
I spent most of the wait for 3.1 thinking of ways they could incorporate the systems they already have in place into creative new content. I discussed the manymany ways the Diadem could've gone wrong, and how it could be good, but I still had very low expectations. Very low expectations, and the reality of it today was worse than I ever imagined. It was the most boring experience I've had ingame since I farmed 2.2 Hunts for my first i110 weapon.

Seriously. Half the fucking appeal of an MMO is not knowing where it's gonna go next, they could do anything, but XIV's been following the exact same pattern they laid out over two years ago, with zero curveballs aside from the Gold Saucer minigames. It is the very definition of a theme park MMO, it's worse than WoW ever was in that regard because of how rigid and artificial it all is. (Well, modern WoW is probably still worse, at least XIV has production values)
