The "demo" is. It's like 2 minutes worth of clicking-through-story. The art style is neat, I guess ... though it should be, given that the backgrounds are just screenshots from the game passed through a Photoshop filter. It gives you some idea of how it will play, but it's so basic that there's not much to say. Worth a download, because it's free?
It'll live and die on the quality of the writing. And while there are decisions in the game, there is no rewind ... which, I dunno, seems like an odd choice given the game. But eh.

But yes, Chloe was the closest characters to Max throughout the game. Which let the players bond with her (or thoroughly hate her guts) by the end of the game. Date-sims generally simplify relationships to the level of "pick X to get the V".
Obviously, I have no idea what the creators of that VN will do and how they will write the characters, but, eh, I don't have a lot of hope for it.

Victoria probably had some bad experiences with boys that failed to appreciate her properly, and she finds that in girls, but she fights her feelings for them because being a dyke is so not traditionally fashionable. And so she's always frustrated and mean to the girls that trigger those feelings of attraction and desires in her. It's a tragic defense mechanism that keeps her from herself and from being happy. The question is whether someone will break down her walls or whether she attrempts to surmount them herself. In good Chasefield fics it's probably a mix of the two.

Actually, I suspect that we're both right. I just relaunched it to check, and while I'm still pretty certain the Blackwell tutorial background is just a Photoshop filter over a screenshot (pic related), the diner background certainly looks custom painted.
The two other scenes are a bit trickier to work out. Especially the lighthouse scene - if it's not just some Photoshop filters, it's almost certainly a direct trace-and-repaint. The grunge patterns on the lighthouse, shadow shapes, and other assorted small details, match some of my in-game screenshots just a little too closely for the looser painterly style of the diner scene.
But I should be clear - I don't mind if this is what they've done. I'd kinda prefer it actually, because I'd rather see them put the effort into the character reaction illustrations. Those are the more important visual details, right? They're already infringing Dontnod/Square Enix's IP with the concept, so they may as well just repurpose some screenshots of the various scenes. Kudos if they do custom paint everything though. Like I said, I like the art style ... but I guess it's simply because it's the same art style as LIS itself.

The little ticker message at the bottom of the screen was just saying something like "Thank you for playing Life is Strange Season 1" following the completion of Episode 5. The developers have been dropping the phrase "season 1" quite frequently, and we know they WANT to make a second season. So I'd guess it's pretty likely?

I dunno. Personally, it's easy for me to understand love that grows from years and years of close friendship and shared memories, no matter what gender the characters are.
At its core, it all the same thing. There's your best friend that you've cared deeply about in your childhood and still do now, and you have the sort of relationship that transcends the usual bounds of friendship, growing into something more.
Maybe it'll be a bit more difficult for me to understand physical attraction to a male character, since I'm not gay/bi, but on the emotional level, it doesn't matter.
