Lol, I'm not even a strict Germanboo, but that list just links to wikipedia articles, and even then several articles eventually say something to the effect that the Germans were to first to effectively use whatever thing.

Several also misconstrue the original claim.
The elctron miscroscope article confirms the German claim, and the highway one contests the claim that autobahn was the first highway "system" using a single 45 mile limited-access road.

A lot of it is just wehraboo nonsense, but don't jump to the opposite extreme.

The Tiger looks to be angled relative to the Shermans, most hits that fail to pen in that sequence seem to hit at strange angles.

Even stranger than the Gun performance is the fact that the Tiger ever advances. Even if it had been a Sherman in a bush and four tigers coming down a road I doubt the concealed tank would have been pin pointed.

Assume it's firing M62, it would be good for about 125mm at 100m based on a 50% success pen criteria.

Tiger's upper glacis could manage 120-130mm effective when angeled at or just obove 30 degrees. Consider that 100mm is the lower valued for the plate, which could be a few mm thicker due to tolerances in manufacturing.

>>
>>121345819
44 is late war. '39-41 is early, 42-43 mid, 44-45 late. They had quality issues as early as late 43.

How does the minimap work for RB? I remember before I stopped playing that there were enemy blips, but now their aren't, but watching PhlyDaily's British tanks stuff, he's playing RB but he has minimap dots for enemies. Is it tied to a skill now?
>>
while more vehicles and stuff each patch is nice and all, i cant shake the feeling that balance problems and weak map/mission designs are piling up and really dragging the game down. needs some attention paid to the basics
>>
>>121346151

Those don't generate money.
>>
>>121346016
It was pretty solid, uneven BRs notwithstanding. They only needed to remove the arcade moba maps from RB/SB rotation and introduce modes other than capturing an arbitrarily placed circle. Unfortunately they changed the core game mechanics now, which is a far more heinous crime.

>>
>>121346151
This >>121346226 desu. Riot Games could actually fix their spaghetti code, or they could just release cheap recolor skin packs. One of them adds revenue and it's the one they did.
>>
>>121341269
I see a problem with you knowing jack shit about WW2 and talking like you knew.
>>
Gaijin seems to forget people are actually willing to pay for a good product. There's loads of scientific articles out there that support this notion. Gaijin is basically pursuing a strategy of deminishing returns, which may maximise return on investment in the short run, but it will mostly likely lead to less earnings overall. They're probably betting on that new shitty game they have in the works to pick up the slack.
>>
>>121345683
>>121346010
German armor quality is a strange matter, since most scrutiny comes from tests on captured vehicles. Even in 1941 or '42 certain captured vehicles seemed to have great armor and other bad, there's a test somewhere of a Pzkpfw IV in early 1942 that disintegrated in meter long sections when hit by a 45mm.

Really, it's too hard to say. WW2 B&G reasoned most German armor was generally good quality, even in there were hiccups.

>>121346280
Tiger II had a de-modifier, supposedly it still does.
>>
>>121346589
Most devs, especially f2p forget this because they're focusing on month-to-month earnings. Plus, the things that would improve the game massively cost a lot whereas the things they do to keep people sorta satisfied are relatively cheap (anyone who bitches about that plane they want not being in is a fucking faggot who placates Gaijin)
>>
>>121346589
F2p shit comes and goes.

They'll sell off the game, like what happened to Hawken, and hopefully someone decent will buy it.
>>
>>121346589
Honestly, I think with f2P games, most devs, and most players, understand it's sort of temporary relationship. They don't put much work in it, and we don't put much heart in it. It's just filler that gets them some money and us some entertainment. It's a chewing gum, not a meal.
>>
>>121346740
Except big game companies have teams of employees who focus on totally different things.

Also there are things they could do that are practically zero effort at all, like expanding the shared revenue skin program to cover more shit.
>>
>>121346930
>big game companies have teams of employees who focus on totally different things
Yes, except a game that's just being casually developed has a much smaller team like this one. The actual coders are mostly doing bugfix work and maybe implementation of a new feature once in a while, most of the rest is artists and middlemen i mean uh designers and project leads yes
>>
>>121346740
Indeed, core mechanics improments are subservient to minor, yes flashy additions such as new vehicles. But as long as people are willing to pay ridiculous amounts of real money for them Gaijin wont stop.

>>121346894
True for the most case. But some f2p games can become massive cash cows provided the devs offer sustained structural support. While the competitive element plays a huge part, games like TF2 and CS:GO are huge. Then again, these games rely on a strong economy mechanic as well (which trandscends the game through steam and real money).

The way WT's engine and whatnot works tells me that the game could be so god damn good as the perfect middle for people who want realistic air combat but not full blown simulator. It can handle dynamics from players close together without being spazzy and laggy as fuck, it can handle large numbers of aircraft in instance doing many different things together or seperately, it has a running CDK and mission editor.

FUCK gaijin piss me off so much because of the potential WT has, but instead we get the same stagnant Deathmatch we've had since day one and a couple of planes or tanks to placate the quantity=quality shitters with some copy+paste premiums included for the ones with an even steeper money to brains ratio.

They're doing the same shit with Battle of X, BoS is still an unfinished, shallow mess and they're touting the literally copied & pasted BoM as a new game. If they just made it a module or series of modules for BoS it would rake in way more dosh and actually make sense.

Maybe sometime in the future it'll be a cold day in hell and WT will get the BMS of TeamFusion treatment.

>people who want realistic air combat but not full blown simulator

>>
>>121347145
>the game could be so god damn good as the perfect middle for people who want realistic air combat but not full blown simulator
Yeah, I feel that really hard. I want this game to be really fun to fly with kb/m but promote people learning to care about aircraft, tactics and the community. Honestly, I think Gaijin fucked themselves the instant they declared the all-in-one system of having three games developed in essence by one team. War Thunder should've just been a plane thing, and focused on making the best plane experience possible.

Nah, tanks are pefectly fine to have. Ships are just not going to work in this format. The problem is the integration of tanks and planes. Currently the whole thing is massively unbalanced when the game allows you to have a team of planes (including bombers) versus a team of tanks. At most we should have a couple of attackers in tank matches (one or two). You can increase that ratio for world war mode. We just need realistic deployment numbers. Right now the approach is ham fisted and causes a lot of frustration.
