I actually got that "dilemma" like a hour ago. I'm familiar with the story but I really thought the game was just going to trick me and actually cut the baby in half as a big "fuck you", so I reasoned that the child would live a better life with the rich woman which would make the poor woman happy anyway in the event it was actually hers, make the child happy by not growing up to be a starving peasant, and even help the poor woman out by not having another mouth to feed when she can obviously barely feed herself.
The town ended up pissed off at me for showing favoritism to the rich.

They barely ever lose their horses because the horses are better armoured than most of the AI army soldiers and even if they do lose them, they're pretty much Swadian Sergeants.No but for real though, Swadian Knights aren't that great, it's just that an army of literally any type of elite soldiers will steamroll everything on the map with no effort required because all the AI armies are full of fodder despite it being obscenely easy to upgrade your troops all the way and fund them. It's just easier to steamroll the entire map with heavy cav because you can F1+F3 and have it over in seconds instead of waiting longer for infantry or archers to do the same job. If you were battling against other players that bothered to use tactics and elite troops and more expensive troops meant smaller army, any pure Swadian Knight parties would get humiliatingly crushed.

If you want to steamroll with elites, might as well just run with an army of only Rhodok Sharpshooters. They're as effective in melee as the elite infantry of every faction except the Nords, and while their armour is shit, that gets alleviated thanks to their board shields.
Downside is the lack of a speed bonus on the map, but I always tag Nord Huscarls, Rhodok Sergeants and Sharpshooters as "mounted" in Morgh's to simulate that they have a horse for travel that they don't use in battle.

In terms of things like pathfinding, surgery and tactics I hope it will too, but mainly their army composition should match what the player can easily maintain. Whether it's made harder for the player to get elites or the lords just roll with more of them, either way it shouldn't be all Vlandian Knights vs filthy peasants with sticks and a few top tiers that get swarmed helplessly.

Well, I think that when you have a pool of 60 heroes, it'll be a lot easier to get a functional team of heroes together.
The main problem with hero complaints is that you're stuck running either group A or group B, where the only variation is whether you pick subgroup 1 or 2.

Veteran + normal retainers are crazy strong, yeah, but the AI is bumfuck retarded and upgrade them to Elite Retainers who don't have shields. I chose 150 archers to man the walls and 30 Heavy Knights to hold the breach, so without shields they got torn to shreds while climbing the siege tower. By the time they finally broke through they were down to recruits and shit, so it was smooth sailing for the rest of the knights who spawned in when my archers got butchered.
I thought I was the only one in /mbg/ who didn't hate ACOK. I agree Cozur is a cunt, but his attention to detail is crazy. There are so many neat little references to the book.

It's actually pretty good man, although the part about the Lannisters being self-insert edgelords sometimes is true. You should know what you're getting into though, it's a quick fix of fantasy and nothing more. It's fun, not world changing and that's cool by me. Character development is the best part of the books by far, the rest is kind of meh.

Your cavalry should never stay engaged with enemy infantry for long once they've charged, they get singled out and surrounded easily. Try to charge > retreat > charge > retreat, and try to flank if you've a large infantry force who can attack up front while horses go around.
