Well, ok, if the IFCS starts to brake laterally if you thrust forward in decoupled, then yeah, the automatic thrusting from IFCS itself would kill you.
If they implement it that way, than it sucks. But let's say you go 90% of you max velocity (900m/s) then if you turn 90° in decoupled and thrust with a short burst with 100m/s dV, no lateral Gs would happen.

Guys, i'm getting massive framedrops in multiplayer randomly when otherwise the game runs breddy well. I went in thinking my rig wouldn't have any trouble. Setting my graphics to from very high to high only gave me more freezing.
Also, should I upgrade my aurora LN to an Avenger?
I'd really appreciate some help with this.

The idea is nice, but there should be a whole bunch of separate ships for that, basically a handful designed to look like the M50, and only usable in racing, not in the PU. It wouldn't surprise me if people were allowed to fly a catarpillar or cutlass or 890 around those stupid tracks.

The other problem with racing is the shit design of the course. Now I don't have a problem per-se of floating cities in the middle of nowhere when they could just be put on the ground, but in a game where some ships can carry 20th century bullets on their ships, I kind of do.

And the problem with racing doesn't stop there, you fly through one of those hoops at 150km/h or whatever the arbitrary speed of the month is, and you have literally no idea where to go, because maybe the next hoop is 180 degrees behind you, and then you see other ships take a long turn around a bunch of buildings and fly towards it.

The courses aren't set out properly. There needs to be more indicators on your HUD and properly visible hoops, like in any other type of racing. Imagine how stupid urban racing would be if you just told cars to drive really fast through a city and they had to try and find the markers to drive through, it would be stupid and they wouldn't race until the officials set out the designated routes.

TL;DR Star Citizen racing is shit because the courses aren't clearly marked.

Also, the flight physics are wrong and feel stupid for atmospheric flight.

They were contracted to do a certain amount of work, which they did, and were let go afterwards like their contract stipulated. They were never a permanent part of CIG.

that being said that isn't whats causing your frame drops, Alpha1.3 is just shit, I Have 64 gigs of Ram, a 4960x i7 hex-core and Quad 780tis and I still am getting shitting frame rates in general, random frame drops and screen tearing. Holy dogshit this has to be bait. When SC was picking an engine their choices for high end software was Unreal and Cryengine.

Unreal wasnt stable enough and Cryengine had a built in tech to handle large world settings. So CIG went with Cryengine.
Turns out the large world shit was bunk and they had to develop the following things for Cryengine.
64 bit floating point double precision.
General Instance Manager
Local physics grids
GOST to manage ship modules
Physically based damage rendering

All of this shit is basically INVISIBLE to the player or coming in 2.0. Calling that stuff minor extensions is fucking gold medalist tier mental gymnastics that would bring tears to the youthful acrobats of China.
