The entire game revolves around identifying the correct rock-paper-scissors situation to press your button, then pressing it. There is no serious skill of any kind involved. You're going through the motions of what you think a video game entails.
The miniscule difference between a week-old Overwatch player and a year-old Overwatch player will be lost in the cloud of instakill ultimates, teleports and AOE abilities. Yes, it hits every shot perfectly, sure, but the point of their ults isn't that. It's line of sight area denial in the form of auto aim in order to simplify things, otherwise you get into a situation where things become needlessly complex (see: LoL, battleborn)
Basically, /everything/ you listed exists to play onto the map, and promote a style of play based around control and teamwork.
Every ability counters something.
Every ability gets countered.
Some abilities are stronger together.
Some abilities work better or worse depending on the map.
This is called depth and makes for engaging gameplay that doesn't get stale and force you to bloat the game with cosmetics and weapons where neither of which fit the original design of the game because your players got bored and your employees are basically vagabonds wandering from cubicle to cubicle until they realized how badly they fucked up applying for Valve and not Blizzard.

Tracer's machine guns have MASSIVE damage drop off, if she tries to duel him from outside stun range then she'll lose because McCree kills her in 3 body shots and it takes several magazines for Tracer to down a McCree.
A good Tracer can avoid a McCree (it's possible to rewind dodge the flashbang while it's in flight if you've got really good prediction/reaction times) but he shuts her down hard for the most part.

It's not necessarily how absolutely accurate their feedback is, what's important is that the devs get to see the disparity between how they understand the game and how they see the game. They've spent at least a year now scrimming internally and they're looking for some outside perspective. So after the scrim they ask the guys they played what they think and why they think that and they compare that information to what they know about the game.
Obviously they're not just going to automatically take the TF2 guys word as gospel and start implementing huge nerfs or buffs based on their 4-5 days experience with the game.

Draw shit in MSPaint or just pull stuff off google - this is a good plan for any artist who prefers specificity, really. You just have to know person-to-person how much freedom they like to have.

It seems strange to me when basically noobs think they can have a valid opinion on a game after getting destroyed. Like when they say "this character is op", well you don't really know that because you don't know how to counter them or work as a team, and that was just proven by your getting demolished by people who have played the game.
They should work on getting better and understanding the game and classes before talking about what needs a nerf.

People have been underestimating him even before beta. He's a Pyro that can launch himself into your team and take out your snipers and supports if left unchecked and force you to engage on his shield. None of the tanks are weak in the slightest so far.

The tanks are very well designed I think. All four are strong in unique ways and have definite niches depending on the map and whether you're attacking or defending.
Winston might be a bit much of a strong all-rounder but you can definitely have a seriously strong comp without him.
Overall tanks might be too strong, having 2 of them seems almost mandatory.

Double support (almost always Mercy + Lucio/Zenyatta) seems to be more prevalent from what I've watched, or at least it's more of a general comp and less situational. Mercy's damage amp and revive just make her too crucial, I can see one of them getting nerfed fairly soon. Symmetra feels like more of a defense hero than support, I think she needs tweaks to be more viable on offense.

Mercy is probably the only hero that's a 100% pick. Other strong heroes are interchangeable, like Widowmaker, Pharah and McCree are all strong (especially with Mercy). Winston and Reinhardt are really fucking good. A lot of the time it seems like a primary tank (Winston for attacking a point, Reinhardt for pushing a cart or defending a choke) and a secondary utility ult (Zarya for her ult and shield on Pharah during her jumps or Roadhog for front line assassination (hook goes through shield right?)).
What do you guys think of Ellohime? He's not a pro but I find him entertaining and he doesn't whine like a little bitch constantly.

Hook doesn't go through shield, only Symmetra's charged shots and Winston's beam do. Roadhog doesn't seem as ridiculous as I thought on the first day or so, he excels at 1v1s and his self-heal is crazy good, but in more organized teams he can get burned down fast out of position.

Yeah, it's interesting in that nearly all his usefulness comes from his base kit and his ult is fairly underwhelming. The dev team at one point knocked Seagull's team into a wall with it and then Pharah wiped them with her ult, but I feel like that was pretty spontaneous.

That kid is supposed to represent us, the user base. Tracer is taken by us, she is the cutest, cheeriest and loveliest girl I've ever encountered in the past months. Her attitude and her abilities are increasing the appeal of her character, come on, everyone is mad love at Tracer and you literally should be because she kinks with something integral to human conscience, the ability to meddle with time.
