For example if I'm slaying Kalaphites they have a melle attack. So should I wear something like Batwing armour since it has melle bonuses or stick to the casual rune? Does armour make more of a difference?

Melee functions the way it always did, you get close and do a lot of damage. The difference is you can't just wear hides to negate magic, and range/magic got buffed overall to match it along with reduced costs on spells, ammo, etc.

Assuming you don't have the skilling levels to get things like ports gear or funds to jump to level 90 gear, you should dungeoneer for a chaotic staff or save up for a virtus wand and book. With 70 gear you're handicapping yourself and not really helping your team, just getting carried. At least upgrade to a staff of light (level 75) and do something like god wars or slayer.

You should be more specific when asking the initial question then, since t70 made it sound like you had a level 70 weapon too.
Vorago, ROTS, and Raids are probably out of your reach if you want to be useful and not leech. Same case for Araxxor because duo is typically considered harder than solo.
KK and Nex are possible if you have chaotics but you would effectively need to hybrid/tribrid to be useful.
I would suggest Corp but he essentially must be fought with a spear rather than magic.
So that mostly leaves DKS or GWD. Anything else that comes to mind would be solo/too easy

On the melee form ones stacking accuracy boosts (aura/nihil/slay helm/reaper necklace) you can get pretty good accuracy with magic, possibly 100%, but the range ones will wreck you and the aoes magic has aren't nearly as good as melee.
While airuts are probably worth doing by the time you have T80 gear you're not going to get the 500+ kph that make them the goat task without scythe and drygores.

Only train Summoning during dxp and make use of portable deposit fc's.
It's so fucking fast I think I leveled 70 - 99 in under 2-3 hours by selling my noted secondaries to the shop owner, buying them back, infusing, dropping them into the portable deposit box and repeating the whole process.

summoning is the bxpw skill
just do slayer, making sure to do familiarization whenever you get a waterfiends task, and cash out your charm stacks when a bxpw happens
if you don't have enough charms? put bxp into it
need something a bit sooner than the next bxpw? just use charms off of it then, but stop training once you get the milestone
also get charming imp asap and toss it on your toolbelt as well once you've gotten mighty slayer helm/quicker killing blows/bonecrusher on toolbelt. have it throw away golds/greens.

If you upgrade your buildings to yield more, I believe Sarula's special voyages give exactly 420 terracotta (probably an ebic meme on purpose) and normal ones (25600 in either Morale, Combat or Seafarring or 15000 in 2 of those) 275 Terracotta.
There's also some with 125 and 175, so I guess that's something. I went back to that region when I was done with ports and only needed it to farm tradable goods for making sellable armors, as the final regions payoff for those was very little more but as much higher stats reqs.

It's so annoying. Raptor tasks are so broken. Assigns tasks people don't have the level for, can't use Kuradel dungeon for dark beasts so if you don't have MEP1 done, you can't even do them. Can't use slayer tower, you also only get 2-4 slayer points from normal slayer tasks randomly if you have a Raptor task.
Seriously, every single QA tester at Jagex needs to be fucking fired and they need to hire testers who understand what their job entails.
Every single update over the last few months have had so many ridiculous bugs that would not be there if they tested ANYTHING other than the main content for more than 15 minutes.

That's not even the whole story.
Bane has +30% accuracy and +25% damage.
The problem is that bane is T60, and crossbow damage is capped at the lower of weapon or ammo damage, so even with +25% damage bane ammo does less damage than ascension bolts (assuming you're using dual ascensions).
This is why using a thrown offhand is good.
Using bane bolts with a mainhand ascension gives you T60 (+25%) damage for the mainhand. Thrown offhands don't take into account the damage of your bolts, and the damage boost of bane applies to ability damage overall, so offhand death lotus darts give their normal damage plus the bane damage boost and have T85 (+25%) damage.

In all fairness, they aren't exactly fun to kill because of their damage. However, even though they're high level slayer creatures, I don't feel like their drops are balanced; for me slaying is all about somewhat steady drops per task, whereas these Wyverns are simply either a 40m-2h Crossbow (for now at least, they'll obviously drop in price) or nothing at all, at the cost of quite some food and not even that great xp gain.
With Rune Dragons you could at least argue that the rune bars and Rune Dragon Bones had some value (and their extra drops of course), but these simply don't seem worth it with their current drop table.

With the abyss ranging being nerfed today, I decided to try out Dagannonths with cannon + grey chins.
This is what I got in an hour:
~460k ranged
~558 crims
I'm only 93 ranged, and as you can see I'm in pretty terrible gear. 500k is easily attainable I think.
Supplies I used were:
594 grey chinchompas
3,778 cannonballs
12 doses of holy overload
So if anyone is curious, this is a super good ranging spot even in shit gear especially since you get a ton of charms and it's virtually afk.

Like, isn't the only thing never changed the fact that you'd be halfway to 99 when you hit 92 and the grind semi-ends at 13m xp? They basically don't want to make a second dungeonering level system with unlocks after 99 and also don't want it to be a regular skill. I really wonder which retard came up with this idea and why everyone ended up agreeing with it.

Normally they don't let skills get bxp/lamps used on them for a couple weeks or so after they come out, so with the dxp in January it's either they let it be dxp or just disable dxp on Invention.

People get 50+ kills in a trip with basic supplies like sharks, not the 5-10 claimed in that post with max supplies.
People can safely grab their loot and not get raped.
People use whatever familiars they feel like, they don't need SGS pets to get their drops.
It's not something you particularly want but you can handle more than one on you, and most of the spots near fires are set up so you can avoid fighting multiple.
People also profit from them, albeit not enough for the difficulty jump between them and other slayer monsters which drop more for less work.
Almost everything in that post is wrong, except for the loot being bad and "people are doing them wrong."

Nah, you really have to do a lot of input to get high kill rates.
The only task you can sort of afk and do somewhat efficiently is dark beasts and you still have to be constantly positioning yourself and using hurricane/quake/berserk.
Airut can't be afked at all.
Abyssal demons take lots of clicking to use multitarget abilities well.
Glacors can't be afked at all.
Edimmu can't be afked at all.
Muspah can be sort of afked but not effectively since they die so fast.
Watefiends can't be afked since they die so fast.
Celestial dragons can't really be afked if you want to make the most of corruption shot/ricochet/bombardment.
