My best save is at level 50, there is not much to do beyond this level.
Colliseum is postgame material, you get it as a request from Jocelyn, you can fight bosses from the game there again (and you can fight Frontier's Green Ruins boss, felt nice). You have several challenges in it, from easiest (fighting off waves of normal mobs) and up with bosses. I don't remember exactly, been a while since I did it.

Because one wasn't enough to torture you, event management is a double-dicking by TWO RNG rolls: the first one rolls which day in the future an event takes place and is done at least 1 day in advance, and the second rolls at 6 AM on that day to determine the specific event that takes place. A day that's designated as an event day WILL roll an event, so it's that first roll that's really the worst of it.
The way I've managed it as of late is to wait until the end of a festival day or event to get clearance, set the critters to handle the fields, round up people in events I'm hoping to see, saving and then doing several repetitions of sleeping for a week and resetting and taking note of when people tend to leave the most. Play up to within 2 days of that earlest event day, save and then sleep+reset through until the event you desire triggers on that day.
