Right guys. I recently dove back to the world of Skyrim modding. The fact that the paid mods -show happened recently is a coincidence, I started clogging Nexus' servers a week before that I swear.
This is my fourth time since 2011 that I've tried modding/playing the game and it's always failed before. But this time I'm actually having fun. I'm having fun playing Skyrim. I know, I can't believe it either.
Now in light of the whole recent shitshow, I'm tempted to try actually making something of my own. Problem is the only idea that I feel somewhat inspired about I have is a ridiculously grand-scale adventure mod and aside from standard oldfag photoshop adeptry and minor programming/scripting experience, I've no idea what I'm doing.
What's my path to victory from here? Maybe launch CK once and then drop it? I'm thinking something along those lines.

Matso is a fantastic coder and we wouldn't have the visuals we have today without his contributions. However, I find his presets are best used as a resource, as they usually don't look too great on their own.
Then again its been a long time since I've tried a preset designed by him so my views may be skewed a bit from past experiences.

Anyone familiar with Vividian ENB? This is my first ENB preset. First time I've used ENB at all actually as I never realized in the past it actually helped performance rather than hurt it. I grabbed it because it claimed compatibility with Pure Weather. I like how it looks so far and the ease up on system memory is great. But this is my first time playing with an enb and actually, the first time I've gotten to play Skyrim on this computer since I built it. Anyone who's used Vividian, where would you say it falls on the toaster<--->god machine axis? I've got 300+ plugins, and most of the normal visual goodies and with the preset disabled I get 85-100 fps without locking fps. With it enabled I hover right around 60 fps, locked or not, when outside.
Does that sound right? That's a pretty big performance hit. I mean, I understand that for scripting reasons Skyrim should be running at no more than 60 fps anyways, just curious if this sounds normal.
I'd gotten so used to playing Skyrim on my old pc at around 30 fps with lite versions of higher res textures and the like that playing at 60 fps feels weird. The swamps were always what hit the hardest though, will be interesting to see how that goes.

What kind of a computer would you even need to have in order to have 60 fps or close to 60 fps all the time while using 4k textures with a heavy ENB?
My 2Gb VRAM and 8Gb system RAM can handle 2k textures with a medium ENB really well, but it's still very apparent that sometimes the VRAM shits the bed and my fps goes apeshit temporarily, until all the required textures are loaded.
4k textures need four times as much space, right? Compared with heavier ENB, my common sense says you'd need to have 12Gb VRAM just to keep yourself safe from the invading forces of Stutter City.

Nah dude your VRAM has very little to do with your FPS as long as its not maxing out.
Example: GTX 780 can have 6 GB VRAM but it's still not gonna deliver nearly as good as a 4 GB 980

AceeQ has some nice climate mods that change Skyrim completely.
He has a tropical version, a summer version and a dark fantasy version.
Other than that there is nothing good for skyrim.
You can try Oblivion, there are many mods that suit your taste

Your captcha's get harder the more frequently you post. Notice how when you first get on, you have no captcha for the first few posts, then you have the 5 letter words for a few, then increasingly harder pictures.
You get old captchas (2 worded) after all that but they're pretty much impossible to even begin to decipher to the point where you're spending more time trying to type it out than on the thing you're trying to post and eventually, give up.
