When I was younger, I too believed, that you are supposed to do something more greater with your spare time. Then when you have had your job and wife for few years, you realize that all to do with evenings, weekends and vacations is to waste time. There's no more reason to educate yourself, there's no more reason to expand your social circles, there's no more reason to go out by yourself and no more reason to become better person. You got your static life and wasting time with different ways makes it worth living and keeps it fun. If video games is one of fun ways to waste time, that's not a bad thing.
