I mostly play darksouls 3, dmc4, emulators, dishonored, and the occasional pirated AAA game with pretty gfx. I also do a lot with recording footage for my website so being able to record at 1080p 60fps seems nice as well

Recording footage is more about CPU performance as well. You'd probably want a second PC just for that purpose, if you're serious about it.

shadowplay doesn't use any cpu resources since it uses a dedicated hardware encoder to capture footage. he can do very high quality recording with nvidia shadowplay too so it's an easy choice for someone in is position.

he doesn't need anything more than high quality footage. if he want's to do fancy effects he can just stick it in premiere pro and edit it there, like i do. many youtubers with nvidia hardware use shadowplay at a high bitrate to capture high quality footage because it's all you really need. you can even do streaming straight from geforce experience to youtube or twitch with full multichannel microphone and game audio support.
the interface is much nicer and simplistic compared to alternatives anyway.
