Damn son, I thought I would really get into this game too when the alpha released, but instead they got so fucking obsessed with making the shit difficult they sucked all the fun out.
It started off as a challenging but tedious game, but with the constant stream of new negative debuffs and ridiculous unavoidable RNG shit it's downgraded itself to a tedious and annoying waste of time. The amount of waiting and grinding just got retarded, coupled with mechanics that constantly punish you for no reason. Doing level 5 dungeons I never opened or interacted with anything because it is statistically not worth rolling the dice for either useless shit or a huge permanent debuff or HP hit.
Waiting for stress recovery and the removal of a debuffs that you get on all your characters, even the ones that didnt even take damage the entire run, is extremely boring, especially when you have to spend the rest of the time recruiting and dismissing low level units from the caravan over and over to run low level shitty dungeons to waste 'days' so you can get anywhere. Then your A team gets wiped out by a boss that gets lucky and you start all over
Didnt care for it after the patches, I dont get how people enjoy the sadistic nature of the game. At least games like Darksouls you can potentially avoid most if not 100% of damage.

You honestly should've went with Doom or Deadpool with your free hero, simply because they cost more ES. Both are also very fucking strong right now, and Doom has 3 very different builds which is nice. I haven't played Venom since they added him, but he used to be a beast. I think he's part of the Gaz struggle where good heroes have to wait until all the shit heroes are buffed until the former good heroes are now shit, so then they get buffed, ect. It's a fun game if you like ARPGs and like leveling alts, which is my thing.

I think the game is more for people who like to analyze game mechanics and then bend the game over with the newly aquired knowledge. Sucks that the last three cheevos are still bugged tho.
