Hey, I'm not one who goes around with a vidya t-shirt proclaim to be a uber gamer or whatever, I don't have much ties to "gamer culture", but that doesn't change the fact that this arbitrary negative view on video games exists and hurts me.
And of course "I do me", it's not like some tweets from the other end of the world make me lose sleep or anything. I go to uni, I go to work, I play my video games.
And yet, I'd love to be able to talk to my colleagues without having to actually go out of my way to "hide" that whole video game thing.
If someone asks me how's my Sunday been, well, I'm a huge Street Fighter fan so I stayed up till 4am to watch the EVO finals. That's how much I love this stuff, man. Did that, and play a shitload of Street Fighter beforehand to get myself hyped. And honestly I pretty much have to come up with an excuse as to why I'm useless as fuck on monday, cause most people when I tell them that's been my pastime, they'll take me for crazy.
