I enjoy the game as long as I have a friend or someone nearby to interact with and play it with. The other day I was just looking for a Magikarp on the way home from work and this gaggle of excited Asian girls swept me up and carried me along with them for a few hours. Couldn't understand a word they were saying, but it was fun as fuck. They all gave me a big group hug when I had to leave.

I dont play pokemon go myself, but I can see the appeal in that it makes mundane things more interesting. "Its popular because its popular" is also more than a meme this time, since theres a charm in the craze itself. For a lot of nerd its probably also a reason to go outdoors, while personally I play games becasue they give me a reason to stay indoors. If you could duel real people you meet and form your own gyms then it might be on to something though.
