The "source code" for a work is the preferred form for making modifications to it. Minified javascript code is not source.
In either case, nonfree javascript is more than an issue of source availability. By default, any copyrightable software is nonfree until it's either made public domain or released under terms which permit modifying, copying, commercial use, etc. not automatically granted under normal copyright law.
