What fucking irritates me is that in the games Scoia'tael's entire motivation seems fake. They always talk about humans discriminating against elves and dwarves but apart from tiny quests where a pack of dirty peasants harrass a non-human it never really shows. I mean sure there is a lot of "racism" but not enough to justify straight-up murdering villagers and human soldiers. It may just be a dev's mistake of not creating the atmosphere of non-human discrimination but Scoia'tael just seem like SJWs gone wild, using their victimhood complex to justify being evil scum. Also IIRC in the books they were seen by most (even some non-humans) as terrorists and Geralt never sympathized with them but I may be wrong.

You only have to fight against Kaedwen if you choose Iroveth route, so that doesn't have much to do with him (Beside for being the one to create the power vacuum that would spark the war) The confrontation of Saskia is to be blamed on the lodge of sorceresses. Act 1 ends after the Flotsam pogrom, then you pick a side and do one last mission before leaving.
There are a bunch of missable quests but other than the Mystic River quest and the dice poker and fist fight challenges there's not much of a reward.

It's explained in the books in the game. You may also have noticed a bunch of people mention "The Conjunction of Spheres" or "Post-Conjunction" shit pretty commonly. The in-game texts explain it nicely as worlds/dimensions being ships and sometimes they ram into each other. The Dwarves were the original inhabitants of the Continent. Then the Elves came from Tir na Lia and then a thousand years before the game The Conjunction happened and a bunch of shit from other universes came spilling into the world, including monsters and humans.

Raw physicality hiding some real cunning. He was just acting in the interests of his brothers and bore Geralt no personal ill will. And he saved Triss.

I'm guilty of supporting Iorveth, not only in playthrough (I've beaten TW3 about 7 times, done every path) but I thought to myself during release and over the years - Iorveth has a point, the elves used to live on the land and were decimated by humans. Elves live in ghettos and are discriminated against. Iorveth was a bit harsh, but had to be. Around the time of Vergen, when you fight off Henselt, he seems like a reasonable guy. He says he wants a world where both elves and humans live alongside each other. He's teamed up with dwarves and humans for the fight against Henselt and he supports Saskia, who to the masses is a human (dragon secretly)
To me, he was a complex character fighting a complex cause.. it wasn't black and white, good and bad. Both sides had done terrible things and continued to do so.

Besides utterly curbstomping Geralt the first time he also fucked up Yen in a magic duel, one shot Regis and quickly gained the upper hand in his second melee duel with Geralt before losing due to his malfunctioning tiny eye. He's got the beat combat feats out of everyone and if it wasn't for Gaunter being introduced in the games I would say he was the most powerful person in the witcherverse and he was still considered young by the rest of the mages.
