The franchise is dead. It had a surprisingly good run for a series that had an AssCreed level of output, but it's time to move on.
Most of Insomniac is making Spiderman right now so very unlikely.

What? Really? I thought it sold really well and revitalized the series, several months after release I'm still seeing it as a best seller in stores.
It wasn't as good as the original but it was a really good game that I and many others platinumed. The best thing about it is that it offered something for both newcomers and old school fans. It was my game of the month when it came out.

Oh. Well, here's my grain of salt. Ratchet & Clank is that kind of series that exhausted itself but I still want to continue. The reboot had literally nothing new to offer but it was an enjoyable experience and I loved all the little stuff for the long term fans. I would be really hyped for a remake of Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal if they can keep the quality of the reboot.

It's likely they make a new game simply because the game did so well, even though the movie bombed. If that happens, it wouldn't make sense financially for them to not continue with the reboot story, simply because the reboot introduced a lot of fans who hadn't played the previous gamesmyself includedalong with bringing back older fans who played mainly the older games but maybe aren't as familiar with the later ones. That being said, there's nothing stopping them from writing the characters closer to how they were in terms of characterization due to character development.

You thought wrong then. The Ratchet & Clank series holds up really well, even the older games are still good despite what the PS3 games had to bring. The 3D platformer genre is dead nowadays, Ratchet & Clank really is the Apex of 3D platforming if you don't like Mario, I would go as far as to say Insomniac are the masters of platforming just after Nintendo, 20 years after, Spyro still holds up very well.
