Agreed, I had to mod the game to let me go completely off the map. I just wanted to see how much of the world they designed beyond the map's borders.

Oddly enough it took like 10-15 minutes on the fastest horse to finally reach that cliff.

First post, best post.

This is why I cant ever create a game.
Are there only invisible borders that are preventing you from leaving the map or some okayish design like unclimbable mountains? Nevertheless, interesting that you needed to travel that far, were there any addditional mountains and hills or just flat ground?
>>
>>345296869
It's kind of a mix of both. There were a few parts where it was just an invisible wall which is lame to me, but thankfully they added unclimable mountains in the North near Skyrim to make it lore friendly.

Yeah, I was half-expecting to find some hidden lake or dungeon or something because the hills, trails, and mountains were still well designed long after going off-map. Eventually it just became flat ground that went on forever.

Asking me, a lorefag, would tell you to install shit like better cities, better faces, better UI, and better crime, so basically anything that doesn't fuck with the shitty lore I only care about.

I guess it's better than pretending TESO isn't a travesty.

Okay friend, that's enough /x/+/v/ spook for me. I know people don't really appreciate Minecraft on here but that weird stuff that happens after you reach the boarders or the end of the map or whatever is really insane and hunts me in my dreams, the webm you posted is really similar albeit on an other scale. Weird ass music, respawning blocks, weird shifting this is what nightmares are made of (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKlDiHh95gY)

you can roll without any, u dunno what u miss yet. I did that and it went ok.
Be ready for retarded lvl up system tho. So mayby if rly u need mods, get something that fixes this stuff.

Isn't it weird how oblivion, being a high budget AAA game, doesn't actually have "gameplay"?
The combat system is so rudimentary, the game is closer to a walking simulator than a game.

Ignoring the main story Oblivion had some good lore.
Shivering Isles was GOAT and should have been a full game.

But Kirkbride will never let go of Morrowind and let them shit on it in the Dragonborn DLC. We'll never have Kirkbride as loremaster.
>>
>>345298301
It's weird how Skyrim is the exact same and people somehow think it isn't just because they made impacts feel better or added a shield bash button.

spooky.
Pisses me off that bethesda cranks up ambient lighting AND places tons of invisible light sources in all their dungeons.

Don't worry anon, the Telvanni mage-lords all survived and are plotting revenge and the restoration of ALMSIVI as we speak.
>>

Skyrim is even better, yet couldn't stop to play Oblivion while I couldn't even finish main storyline in Skyrim, I dunno wtf till today.
>>
>>345298468
The outcome of every fight is predetermined because there's no depth or skill involved in combat, so the game might as well roll some dice comparing your gear to the monster's strength and have one of you fall over dead.

Ooo that looks nice.
Yeah, it usually throws me out of the game when darkness is something that just doesn't exist.

There are torches placed inside dungeons. There are no invisible light sources. Many dungeons have cracks where light peaks in.

I always get triggered at Oblivion without tons of graphic mods that make night time not a low contrast mess.
>>
>>345299439
This is actually false, although it is kind of adorable that you tried so hard to blindly justify it.

Go into any dungeon in-game. Now look around. There will be light sources throughout the dungeon where there are no torches to be found. There will be no cracks letting in light.

How do I know this? Because these are light sources with radius effects that are simply placed in the hallways, you can even see them with console commands or by using the creation kit.

The brightness setting in skyrim literally creates a ball of ambient light around the character. Fallout 3/NV/4 is similar and also has invisible light sources. I've never modded Oblivion but I seem to remember ambient lighting even in rooms that should be pitch black. Bethesda just blasts the lighting in all of their indoor environments which is a shame because they often look pretty cool when you disable it.

The only logical explanation is that Todd became too spooked by the darkness.
