should I buy an SSD or replace my shitty laptop's HDD with a better HDD?

I just found out my brand new laptop packs great specs but a shitty 1TB HDD that causes micro stutters in any game I try to play

Get the biggest SSD you can afford, it's worth it for general OS usage and will help in some games.

For your other media storage needs just use a portable HDD.
