I love all the rotk games. VII & VIII our my favorites with 10 a close 2nd place. But i prefer being an officer and working my way up over being a ruler. I'm enjoying 13, but it definitely feels dumbed down. Battles are alot faster and the simplified system makes the ai more of a challenge.

You essentially play as 1 officer. You can stick him in an already occupied city or in a free city. You can run to different cities and join someone, leave someone and join someone else, etc. You'll get orders to do shit if you aren't the leader.
If you raise your own flag it's basically the same thing only you can tell other people to do things, have ministers offer you suggestions of who should do what and so on.

Lu Bu was always pathetic. His legend got overblown because he stood 'toe to toe against Cao Cao and Liu Bei'. Same with Zhuge Liang's embellishments.

Yuan Shao loses miserably as well despite having the largest force by far at the time with more wealth than possibly both Cao Cao and the Sun Clan combined.

Just got DW8 for cheap. Pretty fun game but the story mode kind of sucks, 7's was way better.
