Dozens. What platform are you intending this for? It's a weird question but it has a huge impact on what kind of card game you should end up making.
Mobile : Faster game with less mechanics, and if you intend to make money, >>345267318 is actually right. Adding some stupid distinction like foils/cute girls/etc is more important to make money long term.
If you want to make it for PC, you can have more complicated rules and game modes, because people are literally sitting down at their computer to play and will have multiple tabs open and shit.
Mobile users for the most part don't want to fuck around because they're on the bus or some dumb shit and just want gratification right now.
