Those are literally the only two reasons why anyone would call IAS a jrpg masterpiece that people will call a pinnacle of the genre in 10 years.
It's a mediocre looking pseudo-retro nostalgia cash-in budget title sold at full price.
Also, literally no one from the Chrono Trigger team is on the IAS team.
