Download the base game from there, download the expansion from there, install it and update it, download the translation from here and install it and do the necessary file editing so that the expansion knows where the base game is.
I probably made it sound more complicated than it actually is. The page has instructions to set it all up.

I always have a ton of trouble trying to decide on a character to use when I start a game for the first time, are there any generally agreed upon opinions with Ten Desire's cast, who's best and worst and such? I really liked playing as Sanae in TH12, is her playstyle similar in this game?

So I decided to just go in blind, and the fuck is this? It's so goddamn easy compared to SA/UFO/GFW. I got to Stage 5 without a continue and this is playing blind, I didn't even check what the gimmick is about (looks like you just gotta grab the orbs to gain lives/bombs/whatever the hell the black and blue ones do, am I right?), why'd ZUN back down now?
I know I'm going to eat these words when I get to 15 though.
The game kind of feels uninspired too, compared to 11 and 12 at least. 12's gimmick ruined it for me but the bosses, music, plot, generally everything was memorable; it might just be because I've only played this once but I have no clue what's going on or why I should care.

I like Yukari for my starter because a lot of my favorite appear fairly early on. I think the latest one is Sakuya for that matter.

In any run I use a Yukari in I pick her as my starter because she IS my favourite, but if she wasn't it would be annoying having to concede picking your actual favourite in order to get her only decent sprite.
A lot of my favourites come really late in the game: Letty only becomes available after getting the boat, Parsee only appears when you're heading to Former Hell and Utsuho inside Former Hell, Yuuka only comes in at the Garden of the Sun, Raiko used to be at that point as well, Sariel can only be obtained in the Frozen World and Shinki is literally one of, if not the last puppet you can obtain in the game.
But waifu trumps all in my book.

It's a piece of shit that's coded in Delphi, of all things. For whatever reason, having your computer in another locale fucks with the character select screen, so every character is mixed.I just play it because I'm autistic and still find fun in it.
