Anyone else hyped as fuck?
>>
yeah im so hyped about a 30 year old console being re-released cant wait to play all those games i've already played again
>>
Got notifications set up on Amazon so I know when it goes up for preorder in the US.
>>
How do I add more than the 30 games to it?
>>
How do people get excited and WAIT for games they can already play? Same goes for HD collections.
>>
>>345215369
Hyped? Nah. But I'm interested. I'll pick one for sure, mostly for those controllers.
>>
>>345215747
It wouldn't surprise me if someone found out via a hardmod, but really, you could buy a RP and have 10 times the functionality with none of the style

You're damn right I'm hyped to pay for a limited emulator!
>>
>>345217226
Why would you spend $60 on something if you already have something capable of doing the same thing and more?
>>
>>345215369
>Have NES, SNES and N64 controllers for my computer
>Have full library of games from those consoles and more

Nah, I'm good
>>
>>345217406
Ito is such a strange person. Why make this kind of story?
>>
>>345217472
Yes, because I collect stuff.

$60 is literally chump change for most of us.
>>
>>345217761
So if money isn't a problem, why were you complaining about emulation hardware not being free?
>>
>>345217838
Because he needs an excuse
>>
I already have a pocket emulationstation
>>
>>345217838
I'm not complaining about it not being free, but I'm just pointing that people have paid much more than $60 just to emulate.
>>
Thinking about getting this for my nephew as his first console. Sister is trying to hold off exposing him to vidya/tablets/phones for as long as possible and this may be a good compromise.
>>
>>345217592
Because he can
>>
>>345217995
But why are you talking about price when you obviously don't care and will buy it just because you "collect stuff"?

There's no reason for any normal person to buy a $60 device with 30 games when they can buy a $100-$200 device with several thousand games and many more features besides games.
>>
Yeah I might buy it, 60$ whatever.
>>
This is like the perfect Chrismas gift, I don't see what you people are so upset about?

If you want to emulate it, just emulate it, but this is for people who
A. Are nostalgic about that era of gaming
B. Are kids who never played that era
C. People who want to collect it.
>>
>>345218843
>A. Are nostalgic about that era of gaming
>B. Are kids who never played that era
Emulation is still better

>C. People who want to collect it.
They'd be better off collecting the original sysem and cartridges, though.
>>
>>345215369
Don't joke, I can't even believe the amount of normies and plebs that are legitimately hyped for this. I'm actually fucking astonished that ANYONE is even talking about this.
The only people that are interested are people on facebook and twitter that want to look like they play video games and are hip and cool and retro. The kind of person who can't even look at their big brother's old SNES without telling every source of social media imaginable that they're such a #gamer who loves #throwbacks and is getting #lit#420 with their bffs playing #nintendo, cuz #squadgoals.
If any of these people actually played ANY of these games, they would know that NES games are not worth this price, and most of them only seem fun because of nostalgia. And if you ACTUALLY wanted to play them, you'd emulate them.
It seems intended to be a decorative piece for hipsters to put on display in their house so people will come in and be like "wow you have a NES? That's so retro you must be a hardcore gamer coolguy"
>>
Emulators are a thing.

Why would I waste a single cent on a console I bought 30 years ago?
>>
>>345219080
Obviously emulation is better but alot of people would like that little package and some of the people who are nostalgic about that era of gaming, like moms and dads may not understand emulation.
>>
>>345219109
This guy gets it.
>>
Does it use actual NES hardware or is it just pure emulation?
>>
>>345219109

>>
I'm going to get one of these for my brother for christmas, and I'm sure he'll love it.

Thanks, nintendo. I'll never buy myself another one of your consoles because you censor my beloved anime tiddies, but that's a great gift idea.

My only regret is no Battletoads. And that they didn't squeeze in a couple more Megamen, I suppose.

Bubble Bobble was a great call though.
>>
At this point, I'll get one just to spite the retards here.
>>
>>345219109
Nintendo swapped their loyals for normies again, im not even a nintendo fan and I'm angry.

That said this trinket looks pretty cool, but I don't think that cartridge slot does anything, the experience of shoving carts it's the best feel. What a missed opportunity.
>>
You are paying for a small collectable NES replica, that's it. You could buy a rasberry pi with a nice case and a controller for $40 and you could emulate pretty much any retro system on it, and put whatever games you want on it.
>>
>>345220354
Anon, look at the size of the hand in OP. A cart would have to be the entire length of the device. Not to mention it defeats the purpose of a compact device if you're forced to lug NES carts around with it. NES carts are fuckhuge and any decent collection of them are a burden to transport.
>>
It is quite ironic that after 30 years Nintendo is finally releasing an actual famiclone.

Sega licenceers have been trying at the miniconsole market for years.
>>
Anybody who knows how to post on /v/ should also know how to emulate any NES game they want.

That said, I'm buying one anyway because I have a little disposable income, I'm old as fuck and this is hitting enough of my nostalgia buttons.
>>
>>345220354
Oh yeah, the little spring-loaded clip. So satisfying once you actually got a carriage to work.
I used to always have to fold up a piece of paper and fucking jam it between the game and the system so the chip would make contact.
Having an nes without these little nostalgic things is incredibly not worth it

The emulation is ass too, there's terrible slowdown for even NES games

And yet here you are, crying foul. How many NES games do you even still play? This will put them in the hands of people who intend to use them, not sit on some forgotten external while you bitch on the internet about how shit everything is.
>>
man i got so hype thinking it was like the genesis one that has preloaded games and can play carts, having a factory new NES would have been legit. oh well i guess i should just buy a new 10 pin connector. I might get this as a novelty though. its is $2 a game. cheaper than the real deal and VC.
>>
>>345215502
Fuck off you stupid faggot. You haven't played shit. You'll buy that NES Mini and you'll like it, bitch.
>>
>>345215369
Why are people "hyped" about this? I can understand picking one up as a novelty but you've been able to play the same games for 30 years by either buying a used NES, using virtual console, or emulating them.

It's nothing new or groundbreaking. It can't even play cartridges or use original controllers. The games are the same ones that Nintendo's been re-releasing for years. It's just a novelty emulation machine.
>>
>>345219228
>I bought 30 years
You're not 30 you fucking liar
>>
>>345221632
Oh yeah, and I forgot to even point out that you can't use it with a CRT so it's pointless for any hardcore collector/player.
>>
>>345221632
>Why are people "hyped" about this?

>or use original controllers.
Its getting NES Classic Controllers.
Native 1080p for modern displays.
>>
>an easily portable system that has very simple but fun games built in
>easy to bring over to a friend's place and play nostalgic games for a bit
>priced decently for people who actually pay for their games

When will people realize that this is worst than a hundred holocausts and literally rapes my mother to death every hour and revives her on the half hour just to rape her again?

>>
>>345221860
The controllers have the original layout but are Wii remote add-ons. If you have actual NES controllers laying around you can't use them.

And 1080p doesn't matter because the NES displays at a resolution of 256x240.
>>
>>345220667
>It is quite ironic that after 30 years Nintendo is finally releasing an actual famiclone.

>>

>>345221719
lol what is wrong with you faggots Im 34 and started playing games with Zelda 2. This thing is a waste of money, because all these games that are worth anything I have already on VC. The only thing worth buying is the NES controller.
>>
>>345222216
It's probably just something that is cool to have on a shelf, but then again, why not just buy the original. But then again the original don't have hdmi.
I'm not sure if i will bother to invest in this. It's not like i am not able to set up an emulator.
>>
>>345222216
For less money than you spent on the VC versions of these games, someone could buy this collection. And it's very portable. That's not a bad deal.
>>
>>345222130

yes, Final Fantasy for the NES is a grindfest that i don't believe the normies buying this will endure, i thought the idea was everyone was going to be playing this with their modern controllers, not the one square brick controller they get with it.
