Exactly why it's fucked. Apparently if you don't get DD, you never get the tape in which Huey says DD is a wolf, not a dog since...well, you don't have DD so how would Huey know him? Funny thing is that tape is a yellow tape, so it's a story mission flag that triggers the trial event chain.
Quiet's running away triggers a flag for the trial as well.

She's basically a walking parasite farm. Skull Face shot her up with a parasite that has replaced her skin and many internal organs. As such she has dramatically increased abilities, like being able to move at 100+ miles an hour, survive tank shells, survive drowning, etc...
Specifically, the parasites require sunlight and water for nourishment. She drinks through her exposed skin.

They needed to give Quiet more unique abilities, because while I like her I don't really see any need to bring her to any mission ever. She's simply outclasssed by DD. The only times she would be useful is when I'd tell her to shoot anybody on sight and go afk for 30 minutes to let her capture an outpost with 6 soldiers. Otherwise DD is just straight up an upgrade to her.

That's odd. My impression was that Quiet makes D-Dog useless except for a couple special cases (like mine clearing missions and that mansion in Africa where for some reason Quiet isn't given a scouting spot within five miles of the place so she does nothing in that corner of the map). If you don't mind causing an alarm, she'll beat almost every mission for you without you needing to do anything other than casually jog to the objective and fulton whatever it is.

DD reveals anyone in range of 100m permanently, through walls too. Quiet can only spot targets that are in her view and not obstructed, she also has a massive downtime of like 5 seconds between each shot. You're probably playing on consoles where Quiet might make a difference because you take longer to aquisite targets, but honestly you can just run in with DD and tranq them yourself much faster.
