As I'm sure you know, a lot of people are playing on high rank already because of the ability to transfer save files, which admittedly affects the rest of the player pool who are starting from square one.
As for me, even though I also played MHX, I am still enjoying MHGen a lot. But that's primarily because I am starting anew (didn't transfer my save file) and I'm playing with a fair number of friends and randoms who are all just starting the game. Plus, I never really got into the Prowlers aspect of the game, so I'm currently trying to learn more about it.

Some of them don't get Ultimate versions though, and considering X isn't a numbered title I doubt it will. Pretty sure it's a filler where they test out new weapon styles and shit, like Portable 3rd was. Portable 3rd didn't get an Ultimate version either.
