They don't want another failure so when 8.1 and 7 extended support ends they can just focus win 10 and fuck everyone else.
Windows 10 is not a privacy concern so much as it is just plain fucking bad, as bad as vista release if not worse. It makes Linux look fucking viable option for video games, even though when you switch you'll most likely still use a windows emulator.

They plan to make money off Onedrive, Office 365, xbox, Skype and the appstore.
W10 integrates with these other Microsoft products and effectively promotes them.
That was their business strategy with the free upgrade, get high marketshare fast and introduce customers to their ecosystem.
Ecosystems make money, look at Apple and Google.
People buy into those ecosystems and never leave.

That's not happening, the whole point of forcing everyone to upgrade to the latest beta version constantly is to reduce their costs. What is going to happen is having long term support versions of 10 that you'll have to pay for a higher level support contract for. So if you need your stuff to work without the worry of shit breaking that's going to cost you.
