They didn't even do anything until about ten fucking minutes into the match for fuck sake.
A good crowd can elevate a match, and a bad crowd can damped a match, but the quality of Lesnar/Goldberg had very little to do with the crowd.
Furthermore, great performers don't even need a crowd to put on a fantastic match(not that I'm saying Brock isn't a great performer, but he certainly wasn't in this match). Just look at Funk/Lawler, or Rock/Mankind; both empty arena matches and both absolute classics.

Being booed out the building is not why they put on a shitfest or refused to even touch each other for half the match, and if it were, it'd be even more of a reason to shit on both of them and the abortion of a match they put on. They know better than that.
The reason they put on one of the worst matches of all time is because they were booked to avoid each other half the match in some misguided effort to keep them both looking strong, and they fact that they were both literally out the door already.

You don't understand the reasons why the match was terrible at all.
It comes down to two things; booking and contracts.
They were booked to avoid each other half the match, because some fuckwit (probably Vince) thought it'd make them both look like strong and as if they mutually feared/respected each other. Two top tier performers aren't going to get so rattled by a crowd that they literally don't know what to do for 10+ minutes, it was all intentional. Terrible, but intentional.
The rest comes down to both Brock and Goldberg being out of their contracts once the match was over. Neither wanted to be there any more, and neither cared to hide it.
It also doesn't help that Goldberg isn't very good to begin with. And yes, the crowd also gave no shits which didn't make matters better.
If you think a hot crowd would've changed the quality of that match, you are a mark who thinks "Goldberg + Lesnar = MOTY".
