ZAMN has to be one of the hardest games ever created.
48+1 levels, some of these levels are next to impossible without a lot of practice, and passwords to skip some most these levels won't save you much for the final boss.

I've gone from level 1 to 33 solo, only lost because I had 1 neighbor left and a monster got them before I could make it.

It's not really a casual filter if it's near the end of the game.
Regardless, I died to that fuck and the other one jut like him on the hill further up more than any other enemy or boss. Those wind ups always go for a little longer than expected, and that near impossible to dodge sliding dash. They're kind of like Gwyn, brutally hard to fight with dodging, but extremely easy to parry.

Xord's 1st battle in the Ether Mines was this in my opinion. He was basically git gud with building up party gauge and using chain attacks or die trying. Too bad is 2nd battle is a lot easier.

This game is a casual filter if only because this game is fucking long as shit. I mean you can fill an entire "Enemies who don't fuck around" thread with this game alone. But levels start getting tricky pretty quick (i.e the op's level fucking 4 and was already pretty intense). By the time you hit level 30 your nerves get pretty shot.

Unless you absolutely have to then forget about the enemies
If they are near a neighbor then fuck them up
If an enemy is getting close to a neighbor then walk off screen and they'll reset
Learn the enemies weaknesses like the martian ray for ants and the silverware for the werewolves
Clowns are good, but don't waste them, they're useful for bait
Keys are useful, but if you really need to use rockets
Pretty much every level has destructible walls
The seams of the bushes, the stands in the supermarket full of tomatoes and of course walls with cracks can all be blown up to make more paths
The more levels you clear with no neighbor deaths give you an extra bonus neighbor for the next stage
Get the fucking flamethrower
It's only in one stage,but kills everything including the final boss in a couple of hits
It's also only in the SNES version
The Genesis version replaces it with a fucking burger

I don't remember exactly how far I got on my best run. I could consistently reach stage 40 or so, but I always eventually lost due to accumulating too mamy victim deaths. Some of them are absurdly difficult to avoid, particularly a few of the werewolf transformations.

More like collecting Jenka's dogs in the Sand Zone. Monster X is a decent jump in difficulty, but I feel like anyone who can make it that far on hard is probably determined enough to sort out how to kill it.

It actually wasn't on Hard mode, but I was going for the 3 HP achievements on steam, so I did that on Easy. You've got less health to work with, so it may or may not be about the same in difficulty

Hardly a casual filter so late in the game though, and not much more difficult than the Core. And besides, the gauntlet of bosses afterwards is far tougher, and the goddamn falling block room in Sanctuary is the single worst part of the game with 3hp.

Orobouros was the hardest for me until the final boss. Tiamat was hard too, but I just had a shitty team. Maya I cleared out pretty easily, though.

i'm bored so i'll elaborate. each neighbor corresponds to a number, 1 being the dedicated "always" neighbor for each level, and 9 others. saving "neighbor 5" means that neighbor 5 will show up in the next level, plus the dedicated neighbor; unless neighbor 5 is also the position for the dedicated neighbor. bonus neighbors are also triggered by obtaining 40k points.
