Most people didn't buy Wii U though, and the ones that did bought it for very specific, non-gimmick games. No one bought a Wii U for SFZ. Lots of people bought one for Splatoon though, and it's a solid game, not a gimmick.
And no one bought Pokemon Go. It's 100% free.
