What are some good -not a special snowflake- weapon combinations? Not "Aerial Hunting Horn because no one will play it" but something like Adept LS because it's easy to charge the aura or Adept Dual Swords for the evading attacks and free dashes for repositioning.

Pretty sure the damage is the same as regular. In multi you still have the same 3-carts-and-you're-out condition to fail the quest, but it's the same count for all the hunters so if 3 different guys fall to the same attack everybody fails.

Instal the cia, but the .bin file on the root of your SD then run the cia. Now anytime you press X+Y in game it loads up a menu and you can take a screenshot
Does anyone feel like 3d on MHG doesn't work properly on shadowy areas? There is always a faint, weak, double image to the right of the character whenever I'm in dark areas.

I don't think it's even possible to kill him without breaking his head if you are always aiming at his head.
Long story short, it's not a problem of the monster being weak, it's a problem of you needing to play better. If it helps, forge a weaker weapon.

What palico skills should i be aiming for for my two main palicoes? I got two that can learn attack up and affinity up L but i have no idea what im doing.

Low and High is the Rank. Low Rank, High Rank and then there's also G-Rank (not in MonHun Gen tho!). Basically it's the "difficulty" level, for lack of a better term. A HR monster is much harder than its LR equivalent. They also drop new materials for their High Rank equivalent gear. Once you finish your Low Rank quests you'll unlock High Rank quests.
Gypceros is listed twice since shows that there's two ways to get the Lightcrystal from him: as a Shiny Drop and/or as a reward for wounding his head.
Will Generations have the same DLC as X?

As a singleplayer game it can be really boring, especially early on since there are so many gathering quests and quests involving killing multiple small monsters which just die easily.
The best part of the game is the multiplayer. Nothing like playing it with 3 friends, working together to slay a giant dragon monster.
Honestly singleplayer only feels like a way to farm for resources while offline to later use in multiplayer.

That's highly subjective. Many people have fun trying to kill monsters as quickly as possible, learning their movesets, and making hunts as efficient as they can. Optimizing. Multiplayer, while fun, often turns into a clusterfuck of tripping and just plain old overpowering the monster, which is good for farming, but can get even more boring just as quickly.
Singleplayer and multiplayer balance each other out, I think, and devoting yourself to just one or the other is the quickest way to kill the game for yourself.Plus, you'll never really git gud if you just play multiplayer.

I tried it out with greatsword which removed the charging mechanic and with longsword which didn't let me use the R gauge at all

Styles change what moves you can and cannot use.
In the case of Aerial, it takes away the GS's ability to charge on the ground. In place of that, you can only do an aerial charge, but it comes out incredibly quickly, and you can often do a few in succession.
Same goes for the LS: you get an aerial spirit slash, which is just R in the air.

I passed on MH3U after playing the eShop demo years ago because as I recall the easiest monster they had set was the Lagombi. Alongside the awkward controls for a first-timer and Lagombi sliding all around knocking me over I just lost interest after killing it. Got 4U after that since it finally had online for a 3DS MHand ironically ended up becoming a solofag, only playing online to grind for materials.

It's doable. It's an annoying monster initially but don't be too overly aggressive and wait out when the attack stops. I usually do a count for all monster's who do certain attack patterns and see how many times they repeat an attack in a single time frame and when/where they stop.
If I use low mobility weapons then I unsheathe and run along side them and anticipate where they stop to pop a few hits. Eventually you learn to pick up their habits, what animations they do before an attack, and a few other details.

Probably Hunting Horn. Early game health up and earplugs are pretty nice and you can save Insect Glaive for later on when you're able to level up your kinsect's speed a lot

I think they made adjustments to how you raise your Kinsect but overall movement feels the same. The big changeup is the Kinsect has a stamina bar whenever you send it out and it drains the longer you keep it out. Not sure how endgame Kinsects react to this seeing how fast they are in 4U by the end.

Fuck Cephadromes and fuck their underlings. The double Cephadrome key quest in 4U was bullshit since they'd hang out in only 2 areas so shit bombs weren't too useful (I had to solo that quest too) and Cephalos have resulted in several carts from them waterblighting me out of nowhere while I'm fighting Diablos or something. Always wanted to make the Coctura Balgang SnS but that one requires Cephadrome trade materials. The G Event Quest with just a single small Cephadrome was a great addition, but I still can't get myself to be bothered with it.

You're going to think it's super clunky coming from Dark Souls, but it's not, it's just way more deliberate. (Unless you're adept) you do not roll away from shit last second. You need to be predictive, and move out of the monster's attack range before it's even launching an attack. You hardly have i-frames and your attacks probably take a long time to finish depending on your weapon.

Think of it as a celebration for the series since you can revisit classic villages and monsters from older series comeback. Also there's a style system that lets you play around with new mechanics and Arts which act as special moves.
There's a demo in the store you can try out so go for it. Only downside is the sheer amount of gathering quests.

You're not supposed to walk around with the sword. You're supposed to run up to the monster, get a hit, put your weapon away and run around looking for the next opening. The main skills for GS are Crit Draw and Focus, which decreases the time to charge up an attack. Without those skills the GS is suffering. With those skills it becomes a LOT easier to do 3rd level charge attacks here and there, but then you realize how empty the weapon is because that's all there is to it. It's the shallowest weapon in the game.

G rank is not a standard feature in Monster Hunter. It is always added in the later released "G" versions of the original games, which are the ones we get, as Ultimate.
Monster Hunter X never got a G version, so they brought over the standard version of the game.
