Is Uchikoshi aware people fucking hated the ending?
>muh moral choices
What the fuck is so moral about deciding to throw a dice or have a monty hall problem shoved to you?
So glad I pirated this shit it had like 3 puzzles and the rest was a bad anime episode.
M I N D H A C K
not to mention that most of the choices just had a bad ending and "the right choice", like the shoot sigma choice where if he's saved you all get shanked anyways
>>345097389
The only moral decision was literally the revolver decision.
I was expecting more shit like that and instead got disappointment that the decision was wasted on that 9 minute trailer
It wasn't that bad. Fucking babies that can't understand simple complex motives.

I already thought that Sigma was surprisingly dumb for a guy who was getting a PHD
In ZTD he is supposedly a 67 year old genius in various areas and somehow he is even denser and dumber than before
>>345098309
>and somehow he is even denser and dumber than before
Can you give us a example of when he was dumb and dense?

I think he's living in his own world.

Damn it Uchi, when do we get a Q/A?
What does this game ruin about the rest of the series' lore? I've only played this and VLR
>>345098541
I don't think you understand. The theme of ZTD is to encourage the players to think for themselves about "What is right?" This is very deep.
>>345098623
It ruins nothing.
inb4: WHERE`S KYLE?
>>345098736
That's why I ask, but I'm not sure how exactly this game stops Kyle from existing
Welcome to ZTD, where the timelines are made up and the choices don't matter
>>345098819
Have you played VLR's hidden epilogue?
>>345098819
It stops him from existing through the patented technique of almost entirely ignoring him.
>>345098623
>>345098819
It essentially character assassinated Sigma, Akane, and Junpei.
It completely fucked on the presences of Aoi, Light, and Kyle (while Aoi and Light didn't necessarily have to make a comeback, it was said that they would). Kyle should have been an integral part of the story and was instead completely ignored.
It completely rewrote who the fuck Brother was and what his motivations were, just hamfisting them in instead of doing anything meaningful with them.
The whole deal in VLR was weaker espers fed into others, but then you get to the end of ZTD and it's suddenly "Hey let's all shift together and take the consciousnesses of these two regular people with us because we can suddenly do that due to C O M P L E X R E S O N A N C E"
Alien technology out of nowhere.
>>345098623
-aliens
-phis eyebrows
-kyle never shows up
-? is never explained
-Junpei was inside of the mars test site not watching it
-sigma never made the 'skeleton' for luna just what she looked like
-the mission alice and clover were on never got explained
-Junpei is a shifter in ZTD when thats not how his powers were explained in 999
-Akane doesnt act as smart as she should be
this is off the top of my head, pretty sure there was more
>>345098476
>one example being when he just chooses a random fucking point on the transporter timeline because he doesn't understand the machine
They explained it, it's alien technology. He can't read alien so he pressed random shit. He even says it when Diana asked him (during the time they get stuck inside the bunker for like 8 months)
> while Carlos is able to use it effectively with himself and Akane/Junpei almost instantly
Probably blind luck, doubt he can read alien as well.

>>345099208
I don't think he meant to send them that far back. He can't read alien after all so he just tried anything.
>>345099208
He had 10 months to learn ayylium. Maybe after giving Diana the Siggy he finally started to act like the genius he's supposed to be.
>>345099243
I just ment that the changed her eyebrows from the generic black ones from VLR
If she had ginger eyebrows in VLR I wouldnt have brought it up
>have childhood friend you just happen to hang out with
>lose all contact with her for 9 years
>be a grown man in college
>get kidnapped and meet that friend again for 9 hours during a death game
>find out said friend planned the entire game after she'd fled the scene
>I MUST FIND HER AND MARRY HER!
>>345099374
>>I don't think he meant to send them that far back.
>there is a timeline where Sigma sent his twins back to when the aliens still had the transporter
Best dad.
>>345099409
Hadn't thought of that, good point!
>>345099437
Phi's hair color was most likely also dyed in VLR, including her eyebrows. It's not like there's any way to disprove this theory now that we know she does dye her hair color.
>>345099521
Akane is cute as fuck, I don't blame him.
>>345099606
Okay but how?
Her hair could remain the same color, that's fine. For eyebrows, not only is it incredibly hard to dye them safely, but when would she get a chance? In the 4 months (when she should have fucking killed herself) before being frozen and halting Radical-6? Just after being woken up? Akane did it for fun?
>>345099551
>>>I don't think he meant to send them that far back.
>>there is a timeline where Sigma sent his twins back to when the aliens still had the transporter
>Best dad.
To be fair... they were desperate as fuck. No more food, no water. He just wanted to give them a fair chance to live a life outside that shelter.
And fuck Akane for leaving them in there to starve and die...
>>345099153
>>345099208
>>345099265
>>345099374
>>345099409
Because its a timeline you silly mother fuckers. You can see the fucking screen with your eyeballs.
Sigma merely clicked one of the other adjacent lines, because he only wanted to try and find a timeline where they were still in the game but phi was alive.
Sigma knew where to send the twins because he just rolled back the machine really really far back on the timelines. He even says this to diana "to before this ever happened" We at LEAST understand the numbers so it'd be easy to figure out when the last time we know for sure someone who is not delta had the machine.
Carlos works on the same theory, obviously carlos just rolled back the machine a bit and hoped for the best. If carlos knew how the machine worked clearly he could have easily just selected "1 minute before the game starts" but he ends up selecting 3 months ago and having to wait because LITERALLY he just rolled back on the VISIBLE FUCKING TIMELINE.
Are you guys actually retarded?
>>345099718

She should have done that in the interim anyway.
>>345099718
>Okay but how?
>Her hair could remain the same color, that's fine. For eyebrows, not only is it incredibly hard to dye them safely
Use a highlighter. Shit's not hard at all to change eyebrow colors.
>but when would she get a chance?
She was probably frozen with the highlighter on her eyebrows or she dyed it before getting frozen.
> In the 4 months (when she should have fucking killed herself) before being frozen and halting Radical-6?
Why not?
> Just after being woken up? Akane did it for fun?
You're thinking too much into it and making such a big mountain out of a fucking anthill. It's not a big deal.

Someone called Sigma nothing but a sperm donor, and I realized they're exactly right. Sucks because I know he's a lot of people's favorite protag, if not their favorite character, period.
Did they never see or talk aboutQ because he was mindhacking them? Or they came to accept the fact that a blind/deaf man in a wheelchair had no bearing on the game, despite always hanging around?

They mention him several times, and sean, eric, and mira all make multiple considerations for him in the different timelines.
It's the reason eric is so OBVIOUSLY distrustful of sean, because hes just there with them and every player BUT sean is on the list of players.
It's obvious from the very first Q-team session available (The votes) Where Eric says hes just going to have to force Q to vote the way he wants, and then completely leaves sean alone and doesn't grab him and theres no struggle. They are also the only team not to blame sean for what happens during the vote or argue about the results. This is the first MAJOR MAJOR clue. Its entirely consistent.

The artist for 999 and VLR was a long-time industry professional, Kinu Nishimura. She did a bunch of designs and artwork for things like Street Fighter back in the day.

Danganronpa sucks.

He also mentioned that he was rushing the machine because he thought they were running out of time and would be injected with the memory loss drug making them completely forget about the machine. >>345106747
D (17+). That's a higher rating than 999 and VLR, which were both C (15+). Danganronpa was being pushed as a bigger title from the start, though.

where can i find more kinu nishimura art?
>>345106489
Because DR is wacky, zany high school adventures with some grimdark and crazy anime artstyle
ZE is just a bunch of boring characters playing SAW
>>345106489
If someone had MIND HACK/COMPLEX MOTIVES (DESPAIR) in Danganronpa, I'd be fine with it, because Danganronpa established early on that it's over the top with fucking ridiculous characters. Not all that serious.
But Zero Escape takes itself very seriously for the most part. As soon as Delta became a thing and he started talking with the group, it just became a joke to me though. I can't take that shit seriously. Can't do anything but laugh.
So I'm just gonna pretend Zero Escape ended with 999, or at best VLR. The open ending in 999 is fine desu. I prefer it over this at least.

Like there's all this buildup with the Apocalypse scene and the SHIFTing and then Zero is speaking directly to them and you think there's going to be some giant revelation or something and then he just brings up the terrorist for the first time and suddenly that's the big point of the game. Like they were working towarda some kind of climax and realized "shit this really needs to end faster".

A near death situation that would give the SHIFTers a powerup and would allow non SHIFTers like Mira, Eric and possibly Delta himself the ability to shift.
>also why did delta gab? why did he kill himself? that whole timeline is confusing...
Killed Gab because he knew the SHIFTers would have second thought if they have to abandon Gab, remember how they came up with that "IF WE SHIFT WE KILL OUR OTHER SELVES!!" bullshit that is never mentioned again before the explosion? Imagine if they also had to consider Gab, the fact that everyone is a dog lover in this game wouldn't help.

>>345115143
He needed them to shift to a timeline where they were all safe, but also to one where there was nothing criminal with which to convict him.
He killed Gab either because he's also a shifter, or he didn't want them to jump before they activated the force quit box, because they didn't know when Gab died.
He killed himself so they wouldn't spend the last minutes trying to get him to stop the bomb, forcing them to shift.

>>345116023
I'm taking you forgot to upload an image of Akana, right? Good point.
I have beef with two endings I still haven't seen anyone discuss.
1) D-team end where Mira murdere everyone. As Sigma starts hallucinating Luna he says "My SHIFTing connection has been cut, I'm dying for real bla bla bla". What is that about? How? Why? It was never expanded upon.
2) D-team ending where they all leave through the X-door and at the last moment Diana, apparently being mindhacked, ditches them and goes back inside to Zero applauding her for being a cunning manipulator and making up "false personalities" so she could get pitied by D-team or some shit. What the fuck? Also something not expanded upon.
The more I think about this game the more respect I lose for Uchi.
>>345115143
If he would not have killed himself, he would have gotten the same SHIFT powers as Mira and Eric due to the resonance. He didn't want to shift.
This game would be better if Clover was in it.
>>345115804

...I just looked up the snail on the wiki and found something interesting--that the infamous snail is suggested to have been controlled by a parasite. This story and the "butterfly effect" theme put forth by it is a huge deal in ZTD and for it to actually have been the work of some sort of parasite is fishy. Why is it even important to note something like that? Moreover...
>Zero calls Carlos the snail (does he do this to anyone else?)
>To describe actions/decisions that seem to be against someone's character, a human-controlling parasite much like the leucochloridium is brought up
>Incidentally, this metaphor is used to describe Carlos who is also the only person whose background isn't relevant to the plot (snail, VLR, 999)
I'm not going to suggest that the parasite in the snail was the work of some insidious force or that Carlos really was involved in the backstory all along. However, the parallels are there and it makes me wonder if Carlos was actually being controlled. Not by a parasite, but perhaps by another consciousness.
Can someone repost all the clues that Delta exist before

Good job fucking your brother and birthing your sister.

Junpei is plausible, since he could already access the morphogenetic field. Maybe Diana got it because she spent the most time around the (assumedly) strongest shifters there?
>>345118020
I love Nishimura and consider her one of my favorite artists but ZE never used her very well (always making her do hideous flat colors when her painterly ones look so much better) plus her costumes were a little too goofy for ZE. The new artist is still good and a better fit for the series' tone, they just had shit luck and got associated with crappy budget models and some sloppy writing.

I thought the bomb was going to be like the bit at the end of VLR when Akane stabs sigma and he jumps back in time but it turns out she didnt really stab him at all, so then the group who won the coin toss would switch with the group that lost and things could get explained to them or something
Why didn't sigma and Diana just stop wearing clothes in stranded end? Keeping that one pair clean for 10 months had to be annoying.

I'll be honest and say that I always enjoyed that idea - we actually do have an unaccounted for 2nd Carlos post true-end on top of it - but it only works as a fun idea. As a theory it's whack.
>If Zero all along knew that Carlos would be the fanatic, what the fuck was all that shit about stopping him?
An elaborate lie?
>Carlos has something approaching a god complex in regards to his SHIFTing powers and he seems to have an almost unhinged obsession with saving people, but he's too much of a good person to ever become evil
>Something needs to catalyze his emergence as the fanatic. If his sister is cured after the Decision Game and doesn't die, then what else is there?

Was anybody else paying a ton of extra attention to the blood splatters in the game? When Carlos was spewing blood in the ending where it's him vs. Akane, it made me think back to that bit with Q Team in the Bio Lab where they find out about the disease that makes you spurt out blood. I thought for sure it'd be revealed at some point that Carlos had that disease and him escaping would cause some other problem, but nothing ever came of it.
>oh shit sudoku being solved through spacetime

The designs being boring is good because they look like actual fucking people. Every single character in VLR has an ungodly shit design. I mean, fuck, Quark's helmet? Are you shitting me? Alice's stupid boob ring? Everything about Clover? So where's the proof that ZTD is the third game in the Zero Escape series and not just a companion to VLR?
I just finished the game. So one of the major reasons that Delta created the game was so he and Phi could exist, even though they already exist. What the fuck does that even mean?
>>345122289

>>345122289
The loop must be completed. He knows he was born via the decision game happening, so he has to make sure to make the decision game in order to get born.
>>345122617
Same with Akane. She knows that she only survived because Junpei communicated with her from the Nonary game, so she had to make the Nonary game so Junpei could communicate with her.
>>345119118
"Okay Eric, just stand there for the picture, okay?"
"Uh, yeah, you got it. Normal human standing. Like this, right?"
>Sigma supposedly didn't eat much during the pregnancy

Not very convincing
>>345121031
Adjust your eyes, those designs are just colorful enough for the tone especially considering they were going for a darker, more realistic look, there are many subtle pink, purple, and blue hues throughout and saturation in just the right places, the only one that looks like washed-out puke is Eric and it still suits his character. Of course I like Nishimura's super colorful street fighter art but that doesn't suit the series at all plus her palette never translated that well in-game.
I can't decide whether or not I like the team setup that was in this game. The group dynamics were alright, but I would've liked to at least see Sigma and Junpei interact a little, since they've both got such a complicated history with Akane.

>>345122927
I get it that the colors are supposed to fit the dark theme but the outfits are bland, even for everyday wear. No one has an individual style despite maybe Phi and Mira, who's supposed to look like the token ZE slut. I really enjoyed the 999 fashion even though it was more colorful, you could feel character's individual personalities that weren't edgy cuck junpei or titty monster mira. I mean, Akane is dressed like a 40 year old MILF, how is that in character with her dumb ZTD Clover-esque self?
>tfw even Sharin no Kuni handled the secret character that players don't know about twist far better than ZE did

I'm glad I never thought Zero Escape had good writing to begin with so this wasn't that devastating for me. Sucks to be you guys. From my standpoint 999 is actually the weakest because while it has the least flaws it is also the least entertaining.

>>345126264
>why did they retcon Left
What if the original Sean was actually just a time transported version of the original Left and that's why Delta cared about him so much? Is there any reason that couldn't be a thing?

>>345126535

>>345124613
Where the hell do you live where Akane's outfit is something a MILF would wear? The bow belt + cream sweater dress + tights + side-ponytail are chic as fuck, I see the look her and Phi sport all the time by college girls metropolitan areas. Diana's look is modest and cute, Eric clearly hates picking clothes, Carlos is casual and invokes that all-american boy look, I really don't see the issues you're talking about.
>>345124975
We are talking about the artist/designer, the original post this stems from explicitly said the art got fucked over by the budget. Not to mention that's an outdoor shot.
>>345126624
They seemed to completely ignore the sender/receiver thing in ZTD. I don't remember that even being the explanation for Junpei's shifting, IIRC he just started doing it like he always could.
>>345125828
>Is it not fair to bring up how Tomono's art translates in-game?
Perhaps it would be fair if ZTD didn't have the budget of an afternoon picnic, in addition to going for a cinematic style instead of a VN one. I mean, stuff like Junpei's jacket not appearing clearly points to a lack of execution in-game, rather than being a poor design from the start.
The REAL question is, how well did it sell?
>>345126978
I hope badly.

How the fuck was the revolver decision a moral one? Sigma was entirely right about it. The only thing the decision was really about was being willing to take responsibility for an outcome.
>>345100081
The difference here is that Uchi will eventually make a Q&A, but he wants some fan discussion and post-game theories to crop up before doing so. Kind of a shifty move but hey
>>345128060
Does that makes Eric an autist?
>>345127654
Is there a source for that? Because it would be a load off my mind, I was always so baffled as to how her art looked so shit in ZE games when the concepts seemed like her usual greatness. But I stand by the other artist being a better fit. 999 and VLR characters looked like they stepped out of a costume party and it's jarring, like I should be playing a DR game instead, and there's no point using her as a designer if they won't even retain her charm in the art, her designs don't translate well at all into other styles.

The foreshadowing doesn't count when the game fucking cheats you out of the very thing it's using. There are a bunch of scenes where you can see Delta's shadow, but his model is never visible, no matter how often the camera shows exactly where his body should be. The pod room section is the most obvious instance of this shit.

but yeah the 3DS version resolution is killing my eyes
Biggest failure of ZTD is how two teams (C and D) fully embrace the ability to timeline hop out of every bad situation by the end of the game. I can handle some occasional wacky time travel/timeline hopping, but having the story resolve by letting 9 people shift back to the start of the game is where it definitely had most fans groaning (if not earlier in the story).

This. And now add the fact that you know the whole map of events from the beginning and then it becomes a stupid tick the check box game.
There is no moral dilemma when you do one and then you are forced to do the other exactly after the first one.
Shitfing should have been limited to one or two characters tops. In fact, shitfing should be limited to the only 2 characters that got training for it. A training that had decades of development and preparation. It kinda defeats the purpose of VLR to make everyone attain shitfing powers so easily.
And what kind of stupid moral dilemma is to usurp the bodies of the blue coin team? They did it all the times, countless of times during the game.
Anyone defending this garbage must be getting mindhacked into doing it.

We don't even know if that shit succeeds, if there is a new game its going to be the 45 years plan Akane was yapping about.
Zero made sure there is a backup plan, I think that was the whole point with the complexe reasons shit.
>>345131439
Turns you into a fag?
>>345131083
Yeah but it seemingly happening in a shower and Chris shouting how it hurts made me think of some shota lovin' gone bad.
>>345130556
They are in the future. Maybe they use those clothes in the future.
>>345130381
>>345131385
Maybe it was to make it seem more like a rusty old helmet that was clamped over a kid's head instead of a robot head and the consistency in the designs was there so nobody would know if he was replaced.
>>345131562
yes.
>>345131539
>if there is a new game its going to be the 45 years plan Akane was yapping about.
What? That's what VLR was. There's no reason for there to be another game between the ZTD Radical 6 ending and VLR.
>>345131390
What do you think their reaction was when they suddenly found themselves in a shelter about to explode?
>No Kyle
>Dcom turns out to be another shelter, not a locked down Cape Canaveral in a desert where only our characters are trapped inside, and the army and NASA are trying to rescue us throughout the game from Brother's fanatics, who are then threatening to release Radical 6.
>Dcom isn't attached to the seven connected anti-matter reactors for whatever experiment is being done inside (could have believably explained the transporter and quantum computer), that then has an express highway connected to a population center where the hospital Diana works in is, that has cryogenic freezers. So that when the bad ending happens Akane become the hero seen in VLR, driving Sigma while gathering the VLR crew to save the world.
>We could have seen how the characters in Zero Escape fought back Brother's cult, and seen how Akane gets the suit in pic related.
VLR gave me expectations. I expected scale.
I guess the tight budget made this happen. Its okay. We got a third game and I'm happy to have paid for it in full. But, I would have preferred it vastly if Uchikoshi made the third game play like VLR, because I felt that it was the natural evolution of 999.
More resources could instead have been used on the story and CG images. Thanks for the work anyway guys.
The VN structure of the past games also allowed me to enjoy the music more. I felt that ZTD's way of storytelling didn't allow for listening to the excellent in-game music more, unless the player pauses scenes.
>>345129974
Maybe one day Uchikoshi will get friends like Yoko Taro and get another chance.
>>345131593
Interesting idea. On a similar note, did Zero actually plan for Sean to be in the game? Did he serve any purpose? Why not keep his shotabots safely stored in case of "rule-breaking" since he was apparently obsessed with this random kid who died at the hospital? (despite uchi throwing us off for this dank """"twist"""")
>>345130936
Doesn't make it visually appealing.
>>345131112
Luna was one of the most tolerable designs but she still looks like she walked straight out of Heidi and nothing about it stands out to me as especially appealing besides the cute hairstyle.
Look at Clover. The giant hair that looks like she could hide rats in, the animal print earmuffs/headphones, the huge legwarmers with high heels, the jacket wouldn't be so bad if the colors were at least nice but the black+pink doesn't compliment her school uniform at all. This is what you consider visually appealing?
>>345131819
Goddamn, Akane was cute. CUTE.
Why did they have to ruin her design?
>>345131819
The shit with Kyle was dumb anyway. I definitely agree with ZTD's bite-size fragments being stupid, though. I understand why it was done that way, but I still don't like it.
>>345131734
No, you don't understand, this game is 45 years after hey failed to stop the terrorist. Turns out the fanatic wasn't that bad after all.
>>345131293
Every version of the game looks bad. >>345110082 and >>345130357 are the exact same scene, and you can tell that they look different. There are shiny effects in the first one that aren't there in the 3DS version. And the aspect ratio of the first screenshots don't match the 3DS, anyway. They're just cropped.
>>345131974
I think she's still really cute in ZTD. One of the best parts actually. Some of the banter between her and Junpei felt a lot like 999.
>>345131819
It's a shame that Uchi seems to be easily influenced by whoever he spends time with.
>>345130381
The real question is why couldn't he make him a normal fucking head.
>>345132232
>spend five days getting everyone used to him being around
>start the decision game
>introduce a creepy looking little robot kid that is massively out of place to make sure everyone focuses on that and not on him
>>345131593
That the helmet has a very modern keypad is revealed very early in the game. And the bracelets also have that same rusty look. It seems like it was just an attempt to make it look "gritty" without much thought put into it.
>>345132232
I want art of Sean in the outside world trying on different fake heads.
>>345131795
No reaction, they would be unconcious.
>>345131974

>>345132232
Were human looking robots advanced enough at that point in the timeline?
>>345132348
I doubt Uchi was thinking of this, but this is actually a very well thought out point.
>>345131957
Clover's design is actually based on real j-fash. This is kogal, a gyaru subtype centered around highschool uniforms/girls. Even Clover's VLR design is an evolution of gyaru towards more mature styles. Look it up.
I'm not saying everyone has to find her design good but at least it has a solid idea behind it.
>>345129986
I honestly wouldn't have minded this as much if my opinion of the game in general had been more favorable. I might have seen it as a fun callback, or even as a plausible inspiration forthe AB game from the "original" timeline that led to the creation of the time loop.
>>345132528
I'm well aware of Gyaru's, I think Gal-ko is an example of an actually appealing gyaru design, Clover is not and the argument is about being visually appealing.
>>345132450
Technology didn't progress because R6 yet luna looks incredibly human.
>>345132469
Somebody mentioned that the other day, I'm just repeating it. However, while it makes sense in terms of "fooling the player," it doesn't offer an explanation as to why he would need to do that in-universe. All it really does is keep people from suspecting him of being Zero, and even that's kind of a stretch.

>>345132994
Anon but what about the guy that lives in that timeline, think about the consequences
>>345132698
I'll respect your opinion on it. I actually think it's kinda cute, barring the print earmuffs, they throw off the design a bit. It certainly proved to be a popular and memorable design back when 999 was at its peak. To each their own I guess.
>>345131974
I wouldn't say ruined, since you and me know that most of the time 2D > 3D. Its just that the artist changed.
The replacement artist isn't bad though. I like the character designs. Even Eric as his plain clothes makes you focus on his unstable face. The transition to fully rendered 3D scenes with no dialog boxes probably cost more money, and it definitely has a mixed reception.
At least we get Phi.Two of them, one MIA.

>>345133287
the first fragment i picked had team D and sigma said during it "well i guess we should just go play zero's game" and i was just here like,
oh did i miss the part where zero explains room puzzles?
nope, uchi missed it
Warning to those who want to play this game, avoid the 3DS version, its fucking garbage.
I had to return it after doing 5 or so scenarios due to a few things:
Audio Compression: The audio sounds horrendous, even with headphones. Its a super low bitrate
Downgraded Textures: Just a visual thing, on top of the resolution. Normally I wouldn't care, but there are actual puzzles that have subtle visual queues that are hard to find on top of the 3DS screen being super shit. You are literally pixel hunting at times.
Framerate: Some scenes get fucked because the framerate goes to like 5 for random scenes. Everything feels so sluggish.
I ended up trying the PC version and Vita version, both played a ton better. This is one of the few times (on top of monster hunter] to the 3DS ruining a game for me. I dunno how people can enjoy something like ZE3 on it, VLR was bad enough.
>>345133642
Grumpei dresses like a loser in the actual game
>>345131946
I interpreted it as him making a point by creating a replica of one of the few people he considered good and pure and then throwing him into the group with awful people so he could prove himself right. I think his ability to read minds made him misanthropic so granting the wish of a child he deemed worth his time was his moment of humanity.
I still have no idea why Happy End had to be a decision game though.
>>345133642
999 or ztd jumpy

>>345133076
It's at 17 years old at the oldest, if Sean was built and the quantum computer was set up as soon as his real-life self died in 2011, which would be kind of unrealistically early. And the bracelets certainly wouldn't have any reason to be that old.
So did anyone like the transition from VN to cinematic?
I'm not saying the cinematic was bad. It worked ok. However, I never really felt I was playing as one of the characters. With 999, you felt more connected to Junpeiand Akane. With VLR, you knew all the thoughts and feeling that were going through Sigma's mindas well as K's at the end. With ZTD, I just never felt that connection. IDK.
>>345133858
It was better at presentation in my opinion, they just need to get a better animation budget. The models and set pieces worked fine, and made it more intense than just text and a bloody wall.
Fuck imagination, it doesn't make things more atmospheric when it comes to a visually stimulating videogame.
>>345132450
He made him a bodyand apparently a fucking soulso I figured a head wouldn't be too much of a stretch, but maybe he really did just want to plant something suspicious to draw attention away from himself and the helmet did part of that job.

>>345134271
Naw, unless they used the really good concept art like on the cover, I think scenes work best and display things better. I like this direction a lot better. 999 didn't have me scared or tense at all, though I enjoyed the sprite work and animations, it wasn't very appealing. If they had the level of ace attourney animation, it would be nicer and fluid.

Writing was almost mediocre compared to the other two
I won't complain about graphics because game was made with a 5 dollar budget but there is that
Also I understand the choice of making it more cinematic but it was a bit awkward given the quality.
Puzzles were kinda meh
And while I liked it, I believe the fragment system is a bit meh. (But they were after the sleeping beauty thing and that's why I liked it)
>>345133858
>With ZTD, I just never felt that connection
Probably because we kept jumping from perspective to perspective. I wouldn't blame the cinematic style for that, I'd blame the fucking fragment system and separated teams instead.
I actually liked the cinematic style a lot, even with the shitty animations. I hope there's a nice middle ground that can be found between VN and cinematic.

I like the VN style more. It felt more like a video game and in VLR there were tons of dialog choices to pick so scenes were worth replaying.
But as some anons have stated, you can actually have both cinematic and VN. There's nothing stopping the devs from making story routes VN style, and plot revelation plots cinematic.
VLR sort of did this with some scenes being 2D artwork CG reminiscent of 999, while the main Ambidex game was in 3D yet VN style.

So his whole purpose of going to Dcom was just to propose?
I just finished it right now. That was one hell of a fun ride. I wish the ending had more to it, but both 999 and VLR ended on similar cliffhangers so its all good to me.
I think the amount of mid-game mindblown moments were far superior to a lot of the mindblow things in 999 and VLR (although I loved both of them to bits, jesus fuck), whereas the ending in this one felt tamer since the big reveals happened near mid game instead of right at the end.
>>345139280

Did anyone draw the picture of Kyle outside of Hope's Peak Academy?
>>345142379I thought I had the one without subtitles but I just can't find it

I told you faggots that putting the games on the Shita would ruin the series. Happy to see I was right.
>whyyyy why can't you shoot him
because it literally doesn't matter whether delta is killed or not in payoff 2

>Sigma is actually Kyle
>Delta is actually Old Sigma
Explains why 'Sigma' is so retarded even though he's supposed to be a genius 67 year old polymath.
Old Sigma transported his consciousness into Brother, rendering him incapable of releasing Radical-6. At this point Sigma has already won and averted the disaster.
However, there is a problem: In order for Brother to be defeated in this way, he needs to EXIST in the first place. It so happens that Kyle bangs Diana and is the father. Therefore, there has to be a DECISION GAME in order to ensure that Brother is born so that he can be taken over by Old Sigma.
In the true end, Old Sigma moves all of the Deus Ex Machina shit away and destroys the virus. He then swaps his consciousness back to the future, giving Delta back his evil Brother consciousness and Young Sigma his body, with Kyle going back to the future as well.
He had to do it all this way since it was the only way to ensure that Brother wouldn't catch on to the plan.
This is why Dio was sent to fuck shit up in VLR; after Brother got his consciousness back he was pissed that his evil plans were foiled.
This of course means that Kyle is Brother in VLR but they just inject him with drugs or something to make him forget/be a total bro.
There, I fixed it.

well no one here on 4chan is smart enough to give any decent theories
the only purpose 4chan has ever had was partly operation blue bird
>>345129430
>>345097389
4chan likes the game though. We don't think it's perfect (reminder to rank it in this poll http://www.strawpoll.me/10749209/) but most of us said it was worth a play. Ending aside, the game is 4chan recommended, and you've gottta deal with that fact. But if you don't like it, that is understandable. just don't act like you're the majority.

Mot of the theories were taken from here, posted to Neofag, and then posted onto reddit.

You make Uchi look like a brilliant writer.

Most of the stuff reddit does is stolen from here. Have you seen their hardest puzzle threads? Just from google cache reddit has low IQ.

I bought one from Aksys at Anime Expo for $50 and it looks like it's been through a little over the years just sitting in the package, if you plan on wearing it every day I'd be prepared to have to do repairs on it
>>345143186
Sad, I know.
>>345143186
None of the ZE games have good writing, at least VLR and ZTD were entertaining in their own retarded way. 999 has best atmosphere and graphics and the least problems but it doesn't reach the heights of VLR and is a pretty dull ride if you aren't invested in the characters honestly.

Uchi detected
>>345143186
>VLR>ZTD>999
its true though. 999 is garbage that you only have fond memories of because it was the first anime VN you played at the age of 13 and you thought it was soooo cool
>>345143364
>None of the ZE games have good writing
I'm happy with ZTD just for the memes.
Beats actually discussing the thing.
Besides, nobody can deny that every 999 thread back in the day was just building hype for what would happen in VLR, and every VLR thread was just discussing how things would be in ZTD.
If we had a ZE4 to look forward to people would probably be much kinder to ZTD. But we don't.

999 is babby's first VN, come on now. I even like some aspects of it but it's nothing special. VLR had the ambidex game and better banter between the characters, ZTD was stupid enough to be funny.

>Jump's right hand
Whose hand is that?
What was the point of Mira and Eric?
The telepods cloned sigma. Sigma was in one body and kyle in another.
Is phi father sigma or kyle? Neither because she is also a clone!
