Well if it's a stealth game with guns it'll just have a bunch of different types of guns. Do you want a bunch of different types of tranq guns too? There isn't too much more you could add unless you just want to add different tools that do more or less the same thing. I mean you have melee (punching/kicking and holds), tranq guns, and various kinds of gasses I guess as possible nonlethal methods that I can think of. Anything else is just going to be adding variations on those just like lethally all you really have are guns and explosives for direct methods.

Dishonored for example. There were only 2 or 3 skills you needed to upgrade and you'd be fine while playing lethaly gave you the whole skill set.

I like where you're going with it. I want more guns or equipment for a nonlethal playthrough. Best example I can think of is splinter cell blacklist. The gadgets were very very versatilexcited.

I'd like to see more variety other than tranq guns. Maybe a shotgun or a revolver [mgs v has it but that was very late in the game when you could use the silenced version]

Mgs V had tranq/ KO weapons. Although they were different, they had no variety. I played the whole thing using a beanbag rifle and tranq gun. The effectiveness of the options in MGSV came down to using cqc or tranq/beanbag rifle [rifle silence sucked assume, couldn't fire more than a mag withoUT breaking it].

I've been getting tired lately of going non-lethal for all my missions, so I might go all out and use like the other 75% of lethal weapons.

Also Chloroform grenades are really good for FOBs.

You can't use suppressors from lethal weapons on non lethal weapons, for balance reasons I'm assuming.

The trick is to develop a better suppressor for the NL SMG's and apply that to a tranq pistol.
It's even better now that they added higher tier weapons.

Also let me give you a massive tip, develop the Fakel SLP and then go to customize and strap it to any gun with an underbarrel option. Much longer range than any grenade and near instant deployment. More ammo too.

I always did a thing I liked, I had one character for each playstyle.

If I just wanted to kill people I sent Flaming Buffalo, a chick in battle dress who always brought a huge revolver.

If I wanted to be stealthy shooty hide and scooty I sent Jackal, one of the MSF soldiers.

If I wanted to actually play Metal Gear Solid with pistol & CQC only, I sent Snake.

I had a whole storyline in my head of those three hanging out at Mother Base drinking after missions and laughing about their antics. I know they probably die during the events of Metal Gear, though. That brought me down a bit.

Ghosting is when you do a mission, but there is no traces. No detection.
You simply slipped past everything and left no clues.

A lot of stealth games is focused around "do takedowns to get past guards" which makes ghosting impossible.
One thing is a game like Metal Gear Solid, which is designed around the enemy knowing you are there. Another are if you can rapidly go past everything.

There is even a hidden bonus in mgs5 called "No traces" or something like that. It gives you like 100000 points.
I think the requirements were use no equipment, don't fire a single shot, don't get caught, don't go in caution, and some other shit.

You can get no traces on a majority of the missions outside of the obligatory bosses and fight encounters.

I 100%'d in like 60 hours or something, I have 224 hours due to doing challenge runs and heavily modded runs. While the story is shit, I honestly love the gameplay.

Open world needs work, but deploying and then never returning to MB unless I absolutely have to is pretty fun and makes calling in supply drops and whatnot a necessity.

I don't think you understand what ghosting is.
The core of MGS "high level stealth" is that you need to FORCE manipulation of guard AI, via rocks or water guns or something.
By breaking their patrol route, you can maintain normal speed.
Now, its possible to GHOST in some missions, but its rare. Often there are checkpoints you need to pass with Chaff Grenades, or boss battles.

If you could ghost, it would be a different story.
