Dragon Quest has been one of my favorite game series since I was a kid. I've played every English DQ release. DQVII is one of my favorite games of all time and I've been yearning and hoping for the 3DS remake since it was announced like four years ago.
That said, I am just done with the series and SE in general. They don't care about their western customers when it comes to JRPGs. Replacing the orchestrated music with MIDI shit is unacceptable.

Do you have any idea how long of a game Dragon Quest VII, is? There's a fuck ton of dialogue to translate. just because it was remade 4 years ago, doesn't mean they started on the translations at that time.

I think accents are fine with used sparingly, not when you get DQIV DS levels of shittery. DQVIII is a good example of it being done right. Yangus' dialogue was only slightly accented and easy to read, and his voice acting helped it a lot. They keep going off the deep end with the accents in all the DQ games now.
